Canada tried that 25 years ago with a weather balloon that went rogue, it didn't work too well.

The reports are that they used a sidewinder missile which runs around $400,000 US

Perfectly good waste of a $6million dollar Phoenix missile.
They could have given it a short blast of cannon fire for a few hundred bucks.
Also, a cannon burst would have preserved the payload so we could have seen EXACTLY what it was.

Naughty peasant thinking critically for yourself and questioning the ones calling the shots.
Funny it’s in the ocean rather than a muddy corn field in the Midwest too.

I don’t know what species of tree it is but I’m guessing it has to be some kind of softwood

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
