Mozambique Pictures

Simon, first of all I'm not a "camera guy" and because I was on a game count where I get payed to estimate game numbers, I use the binoculars 98 % of the time and if there is time enough a fire off a photo or two.... Anyhow I must transfer the photos to the computer, but please don't expect anything exceptional.. ;)

Anyhow, I can say that people stop to keep dogs on the farms in Luangwa, they live for two weeks and then some leopard or lion snap it... The number of cats was impressive, and the next season I'm sure there will be some new records taken !!

I know exactly what you meaning, sometimes you only get a chance through the binocs, I often get told by my ph's we saw a massive bull while out building bridges or making roads, but by the time camera is out, he's gone. I am glad you had a good trip.

After posting this pic, I had a few good laughs at some PM, I thought this was too funny not to post.....

I wonder how this conversation would go for me in the end?

Me: Honey, I want to go on a 21 day hunt with Simon in Moz
Wife: Who is Simon?
Me:You know him. He is the guy who I've been talking about Leopard with, and that I'm always joking with via PM.
Wife: Oh OK.... Will there be anything for me to do there and who else will be there?
Me: Uhm.... This trip would really bore you as it is out in the bush with nothing else to do and no internet access.... The only other people that will be there are Croatian, and I don't even know if they speak English.... Maybe I should just do this one alone?
Wife: Yeah, whatever you want to do.

Time passes....

Wife sees pictures of me with Croatian....

The hunter becomes the hunted.....

It seems pretty obvious that @gordon-kruger wrote this.... ;)

@Redruff , I hear what you saying, but those swamps are grueling, 50 yards in the swamp is like 5 miles on dry land.

Got it! Sounds like stalking in the bogs of Newfoundland here in Canada and the Highlands of Scotland. Great game to pursue...but a real painin the :K Moon: to navigate. That must be why the Scots invented Scotch:D Beer Bottle:....or it was to deal with the red haired women the lads were married to!!:D Drunk:

Really stupid question....is there any easy way?:E Shrug:
Not from my experience. However, the hunt is much more rewarding when you are successful. It does make for a stressful time when you are getting near the end of your hunt and you have limited or no opportunity. You've spent a lot of money but that is the risk of hunting free range!

Mike, I sign a confidential agreement so unfortunately I can not tell you what I see and where. But we was concentrated south from (South Louangwa Nat.Park) a bit further north from your and Ross old farm after Luangwa river, do you know if Nyalugwe West Petauke GMA is sign already ?

Mike, yes I know that both Nyalugwe and Luembe GMA was nearly with out anti-poaching for years. They have a new chief there from March this year, but that's another story.... To running those concessions will come with a high price tag...

Its called a Hagglunds BV (Swiss Army surplus tracked vehicle...absolutely amazing in the swamps). The "trailer" is also powered with a PTO

from the driving unit. Here's a better look.

Probably close to a land rover in ability:whistle:

When you folks hunt these swampy grounds what footwear do you prefer? The boots I use here for swampy terrain I suspect would be too hot for there.

I was just wearing some hi-top canvas sneakers that drained and dried quickly. You need the hi=tops or the mud and water will suck them off your feet! For the forest I had some regular sneakers and a pair of "Courtneys".

Land rover wouldn't reach the swamps without 3 gearbox exchanges....:A Drive::A Drive:

You spot on about the canvas boots, must be tight on your feet or the mud sucks them right off. I have seen a ph lose a boat in the swamp...

Reza Call me any time you want to talk about Elephant. hunting and CMS.
I've hunted two Elephant with CMS.
In 13 African safari's and an equal number of North American hunts, BUZZ is the best guide I have ever hunted with.
