This is your first shot
This is shot location only not judging trophy quality. Consider it a bull you would shoot.

Shoot or or don’t shoot and why

I’d honestly wait for the bull on the right to provide a better shot.

I say right bull. Blue spot. Look at the off side legs....gives some more perspective of shot angle degree.

I’ll wait for a better angle. Seems like the biggest mass of the stomach is on the left side. BUT for the amount of suffering, irritation to the animal and the ph and the opportunity to Murphys law to step in-no reason to take the risk.

I wouldn’t shoot any of them…too young. Not to mention the crap shot angle.

Not sure about the too young on the bull on the right, while we can’t see the boss but the tips look pretty worn. Just my opinion.
Too hard to tell from that angle. I’d circle them staying downwind for a better look, but I’m still likely to leave the safety on.

I want OLD buffalo that have been kicked out of the herd. This bunch of guys don’t look close to that.

Original post states “that this is shot location only, not judging trophy quality. Consider it a bull you would shoot.”
Otherwise I would agree with you gentlemen that the bulls age class could use further scrutiny, best done from a different angle.

Don't shoot, wait for broadside!

Any of the shot options have greater potential for a very long day of tracking a wounded buffalo. Not my idea of a good time.

EDIT - I’d further say that a PH green lighting this would be highly unusual, with the possible exception of a cull hunt.

Only the right one would be in question. I did it once, aimed at blue, hit red and the buffalo disappeared into the tall grass that was near. I found the buffalo dead the next morning. I spoke about the adventurous action in another topic.

Unfortunately, assessing the situation from home is much easier than when standing in front of the buffalo. There are often a lot of factors that play into whether you shoot or not.

For example, on the first day of hunting it is easier to wait for a better opportunity, but on the last day you would like finally to shoot a buffalo but on the other side you are afraid of wounded it and no longer has time to take part in the search. Do you then take this risk or not, not always easy to answer.

We 'll visit Livingstone / Vic Falls for 3 days and 2 nights. Back to Mapcha by car, back to WDH with Airlink (grab my rifles and belongings) and the same day back to Frankfurt.
What do you mind from your own experience ? and your wife .? Did she appreciate ?
We already hunted Namibia in 2022, May for PG near Outjo for 8 days. Great country.
Thank you for your advises.

Hello Cecil
I am Philippe from Center of France. I plan to hunt Zambezi with Zana Botes in 2026, Oct after a couple of days for PG in Namibia in his lodge. I will be with my wife. She is not really a huntress and we promised to go visit Vic Falls. I imagine to go to Caprivi by car , hunt there 7 days (for buff) and go by car to Vic falls (PH will bring back my rifle) . sorry I am required to write 2 messages
