Jim Green Boots Report

Please keep me posted on which one you like better. By looking at them, I seem to favor the Rangers vs. the Barefoot version. I like a bit more sole on the heel. Might help me look taller. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I’ve always worn a traditional boot when I wear a boot, but quite often I am barefoot and in flip-flops

I was a little torn. I prefer the looks of the traditional boot better, but I am wondering if the barefoot may not be more comfortable and what I’m used to.

I snagged a pair of bronco leather rangers at DSC… The rep advised a 1/2 size smaller for the non-barefoot model and trying them on this proved to be true. Since then, I ordered a pair of Numzaan dress boots, a pair of brown Shoelies, and a pair of barefoot rangers. They the best shoe/boot for the money that I have tried! Love em!

I’m really intrigued by these but concerned about the width. Does anyone with a foot on the more average width foot have any experience they can relate?

I wear a normal D width shoe… I’ve never purchased any shoes or boots in a “wide” size. I’m just finding that my foot is feeling so much better in a shoe that lets my foot relax. I’m not planning to wear them elk hunting but daily wear and working in the shop when I blacksmith, they are proving wonderful.

How would you rate the Jim green on quite stalking boots compared to the Wildebeest boots?

I can’t decide if I want to hunt in my rangers or not, gotta get insoles before I can make my final decision

Mine are starting to get broken in, but I still get a hot spot on my left fourth toe after wearing them all day. Got curious as to why the right boot fits better and it seems they are inconsistent with the toe box. The right boot has more height to it. Anyone else have this issue? I’m beyond the return period or I’d try another pair. Going to try the boot stretcher method mentioned previously to see if I can dial it in.

I tried on both the ranger and the barefoot (zero drop) ranger at SCI. I wear a size 10 in almost any leather boot and am generally a D width. For reference Danner tannicus boots fit me like a glove in size 10. I have relatively high arches as well.
The barefoot fit the best as it felt slightly narrower in the heel and mid foot. I also like the sole better than the standard African ranger. These are the “Bronco” leather and take a little more breaking in than the fudge leather. I did add a very thin superfeet insole for more arch support. The soles are extremely quiet and grippy. I did a three mile off trail hike through the woods and they were great. I actually submerged my foot in water and the leather seemed to shed the water and dried very quickly. Overall I really like the flexibility and fit of the barefoot bronco ranger
