From my dog, Kyna. I named her Kyna so it could be shortened to a single syllable for when I need to call her in from a long distance. Turns out we call her Kynadog more than we call her Ky or Kyna.

In English slang a Rookhawk is a falcon specifically trained for pursuit type hunting. It could be for crows, magpies, rooks, or herons generically. I had a stint where I trained falcons for this type of pursuit style rather than “waiting on” for upland game birds. This was back in the olden days of the early Internet and the nom de plume just kinda stuck around.
