How did you get your handle or user name?

In English slang a Rookhawk is a falcon specifically trained for pursuit type hunting. It could be for crows, magpies, rooks, or herons generically. I had a stint where I trained falcons for this type of pursuit style rather than “waiting on” for upland game birds. This was back in the olden days of the early Internet and the nom de plume just kinda stuck around.

Should have given it more thought. Name means absolutely nuthin. Was my Spotify password.
And here I assumed you walked around in swim flippers;)

Being a professional firefighter for 25 years who happens to love to hunt and fish.

My 10-year-old nephew came up with it at the time, and it fit so I went with it!

From the character in comic books I read as a youngster.

What’s there not to like about travelling the globe, dog in tow, from one adventure to the next, with equal measures of competence, courage and chivalry?

Mine shows my lack of imagination. I tried and tried to think of a better one but couldn’t seem to. I wanted something with .308 in it as it’s my favourite calibre but I didn’t know how that would go over well with the safari crowd. Hindsight being what it is I think now there are others like me who appreciate that round on here. Oh well. So I went with my nickname of 40 years.

I was S-3 same is my family’s cattle ranch & hot iron brand, but the moderators changed it to poco that is part of my email address , why I don’t have a clue about it
Wish I was S-3 again, because I am a third generation Stein and was POCO Stein / little Stein as a child, S-3 carries a lot of Pride and legacy for me

About 15 years ago, my buddy and I were joking around about what our stripper names would be (beer might have been involved), and I came up with "Cash Vegas" as mine. It was my Facebook username for many years until FB started requiring actual names. But I still use Cash from time to time, even named my dog Cash.

Oh, and I live in Texas.

My nickname came from a gentleman I hired years ago in a restaraunt I owned. he had a handicap that prevented him from saying my real name properly, and I became k-man to him. It was funny to some, but I use it proudly to remember Jeri. I change my avatar often just to look at something different.
There is an extensive thread on here about the same thing. I just re-posted my original response

But Dr. Jones’ most famous scene with a revolver was a Smith and Wesson 1917
Well if you mean the Cairo one, that was a .455 Hand-Ejector Mk II. His M1917 was only used for footage filmed in the US (handing over to Belloq outside the Peruvian temple and being unwrapped when he's packing his suitcase before Nepal).

Last Crusade is my favorite though. Plus big hefty British top-breaks are quite appropriate for Africa, historically speaking.

The Deepfork river in Oklahoma. Cuts right through the family farm that has been in my family for 100 years, its a recreation property for the family now. I live about 50 miles from that property but near the Deepfork, I drive over the river at least twice a day.

I live a couple miles from the Deepfork. Used to noodle catfish there.

I just googled the pictures. You are right. I guess I assumed it was the same Smith and Wesson I saw earlier. I knew it wasn’t the Webley he carried in the later films.
You know prop guys, a revolver is a revolver.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
