The secret to enjoying Vegemite is to apply it lightly. ( Or, you could just skip it. ) I think Vegemite and Marmite are two brands of yeast spreads. Marmite is not as tasty as Vegemite, in my opinion.

My wife and I just hosted some travelers from Germany, and last night I asked them what they thought about Trump. Among other things, they commented that Trump has succeeded in doing in 1 1/2 years what Russia has been trying to do for 70 years. I asked them what they meant by that, to which they replied " For 70 years Russia has been trying to create a rift and chasm between the Western allies without success. Trump has succeeded".

Our "allies" have lived fat dumb and happy on our money and behind our shield for 70 years. Naturally they don't want anything to change. The Germans have managed to do thru the EU what Bismark and Hitler couldn't , dominate the rest of Europe.

Yeah Israel is one of the biggest receivers of US foreign aid. I would assume the motivation for that though is shared security interests and likely a good chunk of that aid is spent on goods bought from American defense contractors. Probably also why Afghanistan receives a ton of it too.

But the more interesting thing, to me at least, is why the Republican party and Republicans in general have such a love affair with Israel and when exactly this started. Sure Israel is arguably the biggest US ally in the Middle East but apart from that I don't see anything so special about this country...
