Who's Vaal rhebuck's are those? Both yours?

Wished I could say the same.

As a taxidermist myself, my trophies do not get done. Of the 30+ animals harvested, I have 10 done. And now I am going to get some more??

Yup, have to claim them both, and was it a blast hunting the little devils :whoo:

That is the insane thing about hunting in Africa... Never seems to stop.

I'm a little jealous, those two are fine trophies. Congrats!

Thanks Eric.
After hunting these guys they have gone way way up in my estimation.
To hunt these guys in their wide open country habitat reminded me of a cross between a Bighorn Sheep and Pronghorn hunt.

I'll have to hunt these guys again.

LOL out of 20 I have 2 done plus 3 flat skins. Several others are ready to mount, I just have absolutely no time to do them.

Thanks Eric.

Hunt them when they are rutting and you can add Whitetail to that list. Mine was dogging that doe like a rut crazed buck, and like a big whitetail it got him killed.

Congrats, some nice trophies, love the shape of the Nyala horns.

Thanks.

That shape is exactly what created his downfall. More "classic" shape.

After spotting him I crawled through cover and high grass until I was within twenty yards. (I could have screamed for not having the bow with me on this sojourn).

My two daughters know there is no inheritance for them!

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting,

"HOLY COW! WHAT A RIDE"
unknown

Wayne,
Great Vaal Rhebucks, little one's I may have to start stalking. Johannes has done dip-n-pack for me, very efficient and helpful getting some of my trophies to his shop.

You have lots of available time - you just need to remember that sleep is an optional luxury. ;)

Good point but since I work away from home that only leaves 3 nights per month. Sounds like some restful time "off" LOL

I hunted elephant with Luke Samaris in 2005. It was my fourth safari and I tell you he is a fine gentleman the best. I got the opportunity to meet Patty Curtis, although never hunted with him but enjoyed our conversation around our tent in the Selous. Very sad for a tough guy to leave this world the way he did. Let’s pray the murderers are caught. I hope to see Luke in Nashville.
