Be interesting to see where this one ends up

American Hunting Rifles Custom CZ Model 550 Safari Classic .505 Gibbs Rifle

That's a heck of a nice rifle offered by a top notch seller! Lock Stock and Barrel have dealt in fine guns for at least 20 years, probably more.

A .505 Gibbs is more than I want to shoot but for those that do, a starting of $4,000 is a steal. I think it will sell for $6,000 or more but maybe I am wrong...

Mark, I bet it will go well north of 6K. If not, I will be a player. :-). I have never seen the year of manufacture noted on one of Wayne’s rifles. Interesting touch.

I bet you’re right. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was well north of $6k

I don't think this is as good of a price as the one I posted a while ago but still a good way to get a classy DG double. More than I can justify but maybe perfect for someone.

Any ideas on this one? It has been listed for seemingly for a year. I don’t know all that much about Art’s rifles, but have seen them go from $2500ish new to 3-4x in some instances. I don’t think the commemorative nature adds much to value, but somewhat surprised no takers over the last year.

I would think around $4-5k or so would be more like it

The buyers premium is pretty rough but wanted to flag this auction in case anyone is looking for doubles like below that appear to be a potential deal.

If I hadn’t went on a safari this year I would likely be asking for input on whether I should make a run at either of these:

I really fancy that 500 Maximum; doubt that I could handle the recoil though....

I could be wrong, but I think the $4,000 price drop just happened within the last week or so:

Damn. Cabela's did a crap job of taking pictures. You would think for $16K they could step up their game and at least try to eliminate the glare and keep the pictures in focus. Attention to detail matters, especially to those willing to drop that kind of coin on a USED Rigby...even if it is chambered in 275RIGBY.

Shows you who's really working at Cabela's nowadays.

Remington-marked Baikal MR221 .45-70 double rifle. Comes with Nikon 2-7x scope and fitted Browning case. High bid currently is $490 and it has remained there all week. I thought about it but decided to pass.

The auctioneer (Swicegood Group) is located in my in-laws hometown of Mocksville, NC and I have dealt with them a few times. They have always been helpful and very accurate in their billing.

@Mac Baren, I live central to city of Cincinnati. I have work travel early this week but could hopefully meet later this week (with no schedule changes). What area of town are you working/staying in?
Kind regards
Ron
