Germany Hunting Pictures

Waidmannsheil! to everyone in Germany hunting Rehbock tomorrow morning. Hopefully we have some pictures to post in the following days.

Hi Craig,
Waidmannsheil for the Abschusshirsch.
I see the "letzter Bissen" (the branch in the mouth,a respect to the animals, remember all given by God)
Do you like Hohenfels forest ?
Here a few pigs pics:
I haven't been on this site in a while. I love working at Hohenfels, and the hunting is great; the Hohenfels training area is beautiful. It is about 18,000 HA and has about 6,000 Red Deer. All is Bundesland (federal government land-for those not in Germany), so you have to pay the band to dance. I have permission to hunt on the Hohenfels military training area and a couple of private Reviers. The local Reviers, like most in Germany, have a Scwarzwild problem they need us out 24/7 shooting them. I have more hunting area available than I have time to hunt. Never thought I would have that problem: Hi, my name is Craig, and I have a problem.

Where are the wolves at? I work at Hohenfels, close to Regensburg.
Servus Craig,
mostly in our New Lands.
This came from Görlitz.
But they are also between Hannover and area Hamburg.
Good luck for roebuck tomorrow; I have an invitation, almost the whole day

@Savage Hunter,
so you want I can bring you a private contact for Gams/chaimos, in Tirol/Austria.
But in Europe, wherever you are, Trophy fee is high.

I have heard of wolves in north east Bayern too. The Bundesforster I hunt with has a friend with a Revier in GAP with Gams. I just haven't had a time where my and his vacation for hunting lines up. Usually we are organizing and working hunts in Hohenfels during the Gams Jagdzeit. I have had my Jagdschein since 2006, and did not get many hunts the first 6 or 7 years. All of a sudden, hunts opened up everywhere for me. If I was unemployed, I still wouldn't have enough time to hunt all of the opportunities I have now. I guess that I haven't done any bad hunting lately, or everyone would have heard about it. There aren't as many people getting their Jagdschein as in the past, so a lot of areas need hunters. On top of that, the past 3 winters have been mild in this area, and the pig population is out of control.

I'll be in the highseat early tomorrow; Waidmannsheil!

Hi JWB,
thank you for your answer.
I hunt Chamois mostly in the Bavarian Mountains.
But not so much.
I dont know why,but its not so my game.
Here a Gams female ,27 kg clear on the hook.
190m with 6,5x57

Foxi - I think that is the most European hunting photo I have seen. I really enjoy seeing pictures of hunting in Europe!
I really enjoy Chamois hunting. I hunt them in New Zealand where you can hunt them on public land for free (small fee for hunting licence).
Cheers,
JWB300

Thanks for the pictures and enjoyed reading the discussion. Lot of memories. Spent my first five years in the Army as an unmarried young officer stationed at Wertheim (1975 -1980) at the edge of the Spessart Mountains. Hunted through both the military system and with German friends. A revier (concession) holder took me under his wing, and I was able to help with the shooting plan on a huge 2K hectare mountain revier. Sadly, virtually all my photographs of that period were lost on one of our many moves. Waidmansheil!

Horrific problem to have so much hunting you can not do it all.
Point me at them I'll come over and address a few pigs personally. :)

Thank you all for sharing pictures

I'm retired Army and working and living in Germany. Look up "Hohenfels drive hunt" on YouTube. Lots of hunt videos from Germany.

Interesting politics with the media.

yes and the wolves -stroker fraction(living in second floor up in big towns) are always praying ,that they are shy to all and evereyone.
Here filmed by a handycam from german farmer

@Red Leg:
to loose pictures of important chapters of life is a great loss.
So,bring them all in AH and you can move safety:sneaky:

the roebuckseason is running now.
We bring the slaughter rabbish out in the woods.
I think stomic, head (female),skin, legs, shot ribs and something is round 6-10 kg from a Roe.
Over night it is away.
Complete.
This table is more visited at the moment as our Foxbaits in wintertime.
Young Foxes mostly coming, 6-8x per night.
When we would have a pure Pheasants and Hare hunting property, we must be much harder to them.
It is easy to catch them in a live trap (only the young ones).
But to kill every morning these nice animals........-no ,I can't do that.
And I'm glad to have not to do it.

Germany is a Nice country to Hunt it, one of my Big Dreams is to Hunt schwarzwild when they Harvest the huge fields with corn! They say that there Are piggys all over.

The wildboar In germany Are a lot smaller than In sweden. We shoot wildboar In sweden each year over 200+ kg. The biggest one where I'm hunting In the southern part of sweden was male 389 kg and 32 cm weapons/waffen/teeth. Shot In winter In 1997 by my friend.

There were two things on my list to do before I am fifty years old. One was to hunt in Africa and I'm doing it this year.

The other is to hunt boar and roe deer in Germany. I absolutely admire the whole German hunting tradition and hope to be a part of it someday soon.

Interesting,I ve never heard, that Sweden has so big boars.
Adrian: make it in the rut, stay the whole day in the revier and than (sometimes) is one holy hour coming ,where the bucks are jumping on your call like crazy horses.
And go in a beautiful area and you will have a good time.

Here are two better bucks from a few I had the luck to shoot these days with my beloved .223 Rem
A caliber, unfortunatley (booah, a word,so heavy like a birth) not so good for the meatquality, nevertheless I like it for Roes and Foxes and shot a lot with it.
Below, the one with the rope, was running the last meters in a horse fence.
Caught the net of universe.
@ Craig-how are things ?

I have been working for the last 3 weeks and no hunting. We have a multi hunter organized hunt on Thr & Fri. We can harvest Rehbock, Schmaltier/spieser, Frischling, and Ueberleufer. I am sure we will get something.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
