Germany Hunting Pictures

We recently had falconers in our concession to scare away crows -as long as they still have hunting season-, which permanently chop up the silage bales of one of our farmers and thereby spoil the feed for his cows.

If such a bird kills prey from a swarm, then this is scared away for 14 days.

It was really an interesting afternoon with our friends and one of their hunting birds.
Are there any falconers here in the forum?
If so, what birds do you have?
And pics please.

A Wolve at the mornig stalk.

They are strong protected.
I see them with mixed feelings.
Because we have no wilderness in Germany anymore.
But the green politic says, we have to accept it.
Over 300 Wolves are living here.
Incidents with cattle and dogs are often.
And the local press is mostly silent.
The mood of the lovely and harmless wolves musn't change.

Nine years ago I wrote that there are around 300 wolves living in Germany.
Now monitoring data for 2022/23 shows that there are already 1,400 wolves.
The protection status has been changed from "strictly protected" to "protected" by the EU Parliament this month.
However, a rethink only took place in Brussels when the old pony of EU President Ursula von der Leyen was killed by wolves on her home farm in Niedersachsen/Hannover .
When the powerful suffer, it is always different from when a normal farmer has to make the sacrifice.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.
