I just heard today that Bob Kern and his son are dividing up to show at both DSC and TTHA to cover all the bases that weekend. That should tell you something.

There’s a bunch of African Outfitters attending the show. I know several who’ve divided their staff between here and Atlanta

Shout out to @cash_tx for donating a few door prizes for this years party. We've got some 100,000 lumen rechargeable flashlights up for grabs! (who doesnt need a super high lumen light in their hunting pack... or glove box of their side by side.. or bedside table, etc..etc..????).. pretty awesome prize for a few people to walk away with!

Steve from Mt Maker LLC (incredibly nice custom knives) has a booth at TTHA this year and will be attending the Bos en Dal party as well.. he has very generously donated one of his hand made knives as a door prize this year... I should have some pics to share of the actual knife soon... in the meantime:

I meant to mention in the previous post... Steve's leather skills are incredible.. if anyone is in the market for any custom leather hunting products, definitely stop by his booth at TTHA and talk to him about it.. he can make anything you like.. holsters, sheaths, belts, cartridge slides, slings, etc..etc.. he's even turned out a bit of horse tack, saddles, etc. that are IMO works of art..

I love his knives (this is coming from a knifemaker.. they are superior to anything Ive ever made Im certain).. his leather is even better..

Doesnt hurt that MT MAKER LLC is a veteran owned business, and the owner is a genuinely great guy (and fellow Africa hunter) as well..

My husband and I are going on Saturday. We have a hotel up in Allen

Not sure which hotel you guys are at... but several AH members are staying at the Convention Center Marriott in Allen if that's convenient for you guys.. Rates are pretty low that week for that hotel (I think about $125 a night.. it typically is closer to $250 a night and can be as expensive as $350 a night depending on what event is at the convention center and the time of year)...

Super nice hotel, good restaurant, and very convenient location (literally 100 yards off of 75 (main highway that takes you from Allen to the convention center downtown where TTHA is happening), and across the street from Waters Creek shopping and dining (lots of really nice shops, good restaurants, etc).. also just 3 miles from the party on Saturday night

A few more door prizes...

Most of you guys that have attended in previous years know my wife has a little boutique candle company, and that she has a line of candles where she donates all of the proceeds to animal conservation efforts in South Africa (Candles for Conservation)... CfC will have a booth at TTHA this year..

While making all of the stock for TTHA, she made a few extras that will be part of the door prize stash..

she's also put together a little "thanks for attending" gift bag for everyone that comes over that will include a small, 4oz candle with one of the CfC scents... (no one goes home this year empty handed)..

in addition to the candles, I think most that have attended previous parties know that my wife also has a close relationship with Anet Kruger, a very well regarded and acclaimed South African artist what was named the wildlife artist of the year for the African continent in 2023.. Anet did all of the artwork (free of charge) to support the CfC line mentioned above.. and offers limited edition, signed and numbered prints of that same artwork that is found on the candles..

They have a few spare signed and numbered prints available that Anet and my wife have agreed to put into the door prize pile for some lucky party attendee to take home with them...

an anonymous AH member has donated a couple of boxes of "ammunition" company ball caps... there may be enough available for everyone to take one home (we'll have to see how many people show up vs how many caps we have on the night of the party)... if there are enough for everyone, we'll just let folks take one when they leave to go home.. if we're short a few, we'll add them to the door prize drawing.. between the caps and all of the other door prizes I'd guess no one will go home without something in their hands this year

We opted for one with an indoor pool and our dog can be with us. We are about 1/2 mile north of you.

But I do see the Marriot for a little over 120 a night.
