Hunted
South Africa
I have just completed my FIRST Africa Safari with Chris Troskie - CT Safaris in South Africa. I booked the trip October 2023 to hunt in September 2024. I waited almost a year for the hunt to become reality. Now when I booked this hunt, I explained to Chris that my wife would be coming along as this was for our 20-year anniversary, and wanted to make it special for her as she is not a hunter at all. So, Chris and his wife Sabina came up with a plan that I would hunt for 7 days then we would all go tour Cape Town for 4 days. Not only did they do that, but working with Sabina also added an Elephant Park visit and had a very nice dinner with them after on the day of our Anniversary. She also booked a 4 hr massage/lunch for her and my wife as well. We found the experience to be amazing. More than we ever could have imagined. Chris and Sammie (Tracker) found excellent quality of game in the extensive areas we hunted in Limpopo. I was very fortunate to take a Kudu, Impala Nyala, Sable & Gemsbok. Each one an impressive old specimen. Which is what I was looking for and Chris and I both agreed on. I wanted to take older animals that were past there prime. I wasn’t looking for the biggest trophy as I know as a hunter the biggest trophy might be a young one that has a lot of years left to re produce his genetics.

The accommodations were excellent. My wife and I stayed in a quaint, nicely decorated private chalet. Heating, air conditioning, with shower and large tub. Nothing like walking out when the sun is coming up with a cup of coffee and see baby and mama Bushbuck sitting right outside the door. That was cleaned daily by Kate along with having our laundry done daily. Kate is an amazing woman!!!! The meals were fixed by his wife Sabina and we can't say enough good comments about the quality of the food and also made them all to my wife’s dietary restriction as she is gluten free. She served 4 course meals every night around a glowing fire, catering to our every desire.

Chris and his wife Sabina run a professional hunting safari operation, provide amazing comfortable lodging and excellent food. All the staff are friendly in a beautiful Africa setting. Come as a client, leave as a family!!!

I highly recommend CT Safaris - Chris Troskie. You won't be disappointed. See you all again very soon!!!

Congratulations on some very nice trophies and glad you had a great anniversary trip

Thank you so much for putting this hunt report together!! Have you started planning your 2nd safari?

That's a terrific first trip.

I'm celiac( gluten free) and I have found African outfits very responsive to accommodate my diet, even remote camps in Zimbabwe.

Good luck on the next one.

@Mac Baren, I live central to city of Cincinnati. I have work travel early this week but could hopefully meet later this week (with no schedule changes). What area of town are you working/staying in?
Kind regards
Ron
