Incredibly surprised (and happy) about this..

I am fearful the fight isn't over yet though..

Leadership in the "republican" congress has the likes of McConnell, McCain, Ryan, and others still in their ranks... I can see them resisting POTUS initiatives if for no other reason they want to retain as much power and control as they possibly can and keep the "establishment" in play, and show POTUS who is really the boss...

I fully expect Trump to have to pull out the Bully Pulpit and shame some of R's into backing him (will make a public display and go after them on national television, etc..).. or have to go on the warpath and try to have them lose in the midterm election (to be replaced by D's).. if he wants to get much done..

I think the next 6 months have the potential to be a pretty bumpy ride... It wont be "easy" like the current POTUS had it his first 2 years in office where the D's owned the house, senate, and presidency.. and everyone was onboard from day one...

I hope I am wrong about this..

But my trust of congress (even an R one) is somewhere between zero and none...

LAWDY JAYSUS!! What a glorious day in America! I believe we may have a new beginning. It's not going to be easy, though. Most of the congress pukes on both sides don't think too much of our hew leader. Mainly, I think, because he just might clean house to a degree and a lot of them are afraid their free ride might hit a huge bump in the road. As he said, he's going to run the country like a business and he is a very successful businessman.

However, I don't think much will become of the screeching psychopath now that she's out of the picture. She and the willy will quietly fade into the sewer where thy came from. That mob has too much dirt on too many politicians and federal flunkies. They know this, they want to keep their jobs---and their lives so they won't even think about any kind of prosecution.

It sure is going to be interesting times in the country for awhile. Lots of changes in the works, some good, some not so much. It does look like our 2nd amendment rights are safe for the forseeable future. I bet there are a lot of African outfitters who are breathing a great sigh of relief about now.

Doesn't someone need to be convicted of something before he/she can be pardoned? I've heard of pre-paying for sins prior to commission, but pardons for not-yet convictions is probably new ground for the courts. Oh well, convention never got in the way of this bunch. give it a go, see how it goes.

Newboomer- I accept your apology. I realize the frustrations that the behaviors of various political figures have caused- but these frustrations should be discussed in a civil manner without reference to a person's parentage or place of birth- things which the person had no choice in determining. And as Donald Trump said several weeks back when the FBI waived any sort of prosecution: the American public will be the jury in this case and will give their verdict on Nov 8; which they did.
