Is it any wonder? Look who we are dealing with here in the Great White North. Such an embarrassment.

Our government passed the legislation before we could do anything .
In Australia we are now known as LAFOS
LAW ABIDING FIREARM OWNERS what a load of croc shit before all this I was just a simple gun owner.

Yes, that is the sad reality in not only Australia, but New Zealand as well. And seemingly Canada now too. Strikes me as a pattern and the politicians have largely done this with impunity.
I suppose the government is careful to use the label NON LAW ABIDING FIREARM OWNER too?
Citizen would seem to be the appropriate and acceptable term. That is if people like Trudeau viewed the populace as citizens, peers and equals. It is quite evident these politicians don’t see people that way. Simple subjects to be ruled.

Rick, you mean the petition with the highest number of signatures collected in the entire history of Canada?
Yes, 175,310 signatures can be ignored if they don’t match the pretty boy’s agenda. It didn’t even took him long to ignore them.

Thanks for the data. Impressive! I didn't have hard facts, and didn't take the time to research. I signed a petition on GunNutz but honestly, I didn't hold out any hope it would do any good. Same thing happened in BC with the grizzly hunt ban. Bleeding heart politically correct antis rule.

England, Australia, New Zealand... My Canadian friends the writing is on the wall. This may or may not be “The Big One” but you know it is coming eventually, right?
I bet if you talk with gun owners in any of those countries mentioned above they will say Canada is right where they were when they had many or all of their rights to own firearms stripped away.
I have talked with quite a few folks from foreign countries at SHOT Show every year and they kick themselves in the ass for not organizing and fighting harder and now it is too late. I must sound like I’m preaching, and I guess I am. Sorry for that, but how many times have you ever heard someone say they wish they had fought less?
What is the most powerful gun-rights organization in Canada? Post a link and I will join and send a contribution, just as I and many others did with COLFO recently when things when down in NZ. No matter what country we’re from, we need to stick together and support each other.
And now I am going to sound like a real asshole. Forgive me, I truly don’t want or mean to be! I said this exact thing years ago to a very nice gentleman from Australia as strict gun control measures were happening there. He was saying how he was trying to convince his wife they should look into immigrating to the United States. I told him that he seemed like a good guy and would make a good citizen. He was obviously like-minded regarding gun ownership, but I had a question for him.
If he was not willing to stay, stand and fight these measures in his native country, and if he was not willing to die fighting for his country and for his liberty, why would I want him in my country?
I know that is harsh, and it is hard for me to say. I feel bad to say it. But what happens when and if the United States finds itself in the same predicament? And might we have been right there if elections had gone differently just a few short years ago? Had Hilary been elected President we would likely have a very liberal Supreme Court instead of a Conservative leaning Court. What would gun control efforts have looked like here with a liberal Democrat President, a liberal Supreme Court, and a House of Representatives controlled by ultra-liberal democrats? I shudder to even imagine.
Well said. It's the same as all the 'economic refugees' swarming out out of Africa into Europe or the US or for that matter Canada. Except in Canada they get better treatment than our seniors or vets.

I remember 'back in the day' when you would not describe yourself as a 'gun owner'. It'd be like saying: "yep I got a kidney. Two in fact. Keep 'em handy, use them often."

This is a great description of incompetent people in the world who`s job descriptions are coined as Members of a parliament, or any minister in cabinet of a country...here is an excellent example of how any minister /parliamentarian argues...this is about what is happening to Canada..do not feel alone, South Africa is in the same situation...post-turtles for sure..enjoy this video....we need to laugh sometimes as well...

Was that a joke skit or was that for real?? That is about the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time.

for an approximate result, divide the energy value by 1.356

I hate how one way or another these political threads always degrade to some math formula I was too hung over in college to remember. I guess thats why I despise politics.

Well if my rifle was used during a combat assault in 1940-something, does that count? Cause most of them are guaranteed to have been used in battle. I'm certainly not laughing at any confiscation or bans; we in the original 13 went to war with His Majesty George the Turd for that, among other reasons, in 1776.

But I was referring to the under-50-killing virus, since I'm under 50. Just cause a lot of younger folks are utter imbeciles doesn't mean we all are!

I remember when the average person couldn't own a,303 in NSW for hunting hence the barrel had 1 thread cut off and made into a 7.7x54 so you couldn't chamber the military 303. We also couldn't hunt on Sunday. After the bullshit people just ran 4he 303 reamer back thru if the wanted. I C ant stand all this political correctness bullshit.
Cheers mate Bob

I'm sorry, but from the content of posts here and elsewhere, I don't expect Canada or any commonwealth country to do much except complain, but then put up with the socialist left. Maybe you would be up for a real or threatened tax boycott to shrink their power. I have grown weary in the past of arguing with Nova Scotians who were soft of gun control, and now you want to complain that it went too far? Someone has got to put the fear of God in the left...maybe we yanks still have it in our dna. We'll see, especially with our new snowflake millinials.

I'm sure it's the same in Australia, Canada and New Zealand as it is here. The Philadelphia, PA liberal DA denies it but gun criminals have had a revolving door forever. They drop the gun charge in a plea bargain and the perp is back on the street committing more gun crimes. Up until now, nothing was said because it doesn't fit in to their anti-gun narrative but now the Philly mayor is pissed and wants them locked up. One just has to shake their heads at how delusional these politicians have become.

Spent much time in Nova Scotia have you? Here in south west Nova the only conservative seat in the province our mp has been forced to unhook is home phone after fielding in the range of six hundred angry calls from the shooting community, all before his constituents office opens again on monday. I wouldn't say we've done nothing. Forgive us if we try proper channels and legal approaches before descending into anarchy. Legally our hands are tied as to even attempt to protest at this point would be illegal due to covid. The reason my self and others have discussed immigration is simply becouse we have know legal standing to fight on. You were lucky your forefathers protected your rights while writing your constitution.

Don't be so quick to judge those who's shoes you haven't tried on.

Agreed, per my post above, the US is the only country I am aware of where gun ownership is a right, not a privilege. Appreciate it and protect it!

........ Legally our hands are tied as to even attempt to protest at this point would be illegal due to covid. .............

That is another truly slimy aspect to this little proclamation.
No mass gatherings in order to save lives OR have a multiple mass protests and kill more people by Covid than were murdered by this criminal!

What a mess. It’s the perfect situation for the gun control folks and pretty boy to drive through their agenda.

Add to that the Conservative party is currently leaderless and unable to hold a leadership convention due to covid 19 laws and truedeau fear mongering his way into having powers otherwise denied a leader and you get a perfect storm.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
