Blaser S2

Due to current poltiical issues in Canada, there are virtually no carriers that can transport guns. The last one was Yellow Freight (bankrupt) so the problem is literally getting the guns to the border from the dealer on the Canada side. Borderview has import/export abilities on both sides of the border, but it takes time and costs a fair sum of money.

Be prepared to pay a lot and wait a lot. Any political changes could delay or cancel your import for a variety of reasons.
I can certainly imagine the volatility now. However, for the details .. thank you!

Any negatives on the Blaser S2 I got a friend that wants to get rid of one. He has a 470 nitro express and a 375 H&H barrel with it. My last ph on my last hunt in Africa had one and I really liked the way it felt and shouldered. Thank you for all the info and help.
If you choose not to buy the. S2 would you please forward me the info on it and a contact. I like them for the safety system. I know people on dangerous game want to load and be able to shoot but I personally worry more about a gun accidentally discharging and the S2 will not.

The safety/decocker is just a minor manual of arms adaptation, and I don't mind it. There is absolutely zero time penalty as I can recock it when I am remounting the rifle. I practice with it and I have put it on the clock against my conventional double and it isn't any slower. I’m a long time R93/R8 user so that made the transition easier.

I do like that the Krieghoff that stays cocked when you open the gun, and I wish I had kept mine some days. It never fit me quite right and the Blaser does, and if I were king the Blaser wouldn’t decock on opening but it certainly isn’t a deal breaker for me. That said, a sub-MOA 470NE double with a brilliant optic mounting system that can be tweaked for regulation by a competent user is certainly nice.

I have a Krieghoff in 500 "never shot" if you'd like to trade?

15" LOP, nice for factory wood.

If I really wanted one of these, I'd go find one that isn't for sale. Blaserbuds is probably the biggest fanboy forum for that brand. I'd snoop around for S2 owners on that forum and ask if they are really heading back to Africa any time soon.

Most of my life, I've found these easiest way to buy something is to buy something not yet posted for sale.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
