Dan, I had an interest in buying one maybe around 2016 after talking to @Red Leg had told me all about his. At that time I found one for about ($7000) Don't remember the caliber. By the time I came around to actually spending the money, they were discontinued. A few years later I ran across the individual who was specializing in this rifle in DSC. They were highly decorated and priced from $10,000 to in the $20,000s. This was enough reason for me to back out of a purchase. Good luck on your hunt for one of these rifles.

Thanks for reaching out, just as well @Red Leg took the time with great insight. I believe I've exhausted the resources with those that dealt with the S2DB and do regret overlooking every configuration possible a few years back on Gunbroker.
The possibility of the K being used anytime soon is becoming almost extinct .. I simply find that S2 beautiful, some exquisite!

I know, I love Blaser and have dreamed of an S2 in 500/416, but...

That rifle has been on GI for quite a while now and I believe the reason is a combination of factors. First is that the S2 is discontinued so getting additional barrels will be difficult. Second is the calibers themselves. 243WIN in a double rifle isn't exactly "romantic". The 500/416NE is an AWESOME cartridge for a DR, but it's not as common as the 470NE or 500NE when it comes to ammo availability. These reasons are linked as well, because if you buy it...now you are on the hunt for the calibers you really want AND trying to sell the ones you don't.

This would be a much more attractive offer if it were just the 500/416NE rifle & barrel at a lower price, but as you can see from the ad...they are not breaking up the set to be stranded with an unsellable 243WIN barrel set. Which is why it will continue to sit there until it finds exactly the right person.

The real kicker is paying $24K for a rifle with someone else's initials engraved on the trigger guard.

Appreciate the thought.

At 24K....nothing to think about.

The price, out of the question, for me. And everything included, not wanted.
I did find it a bit attractive.

But $11K max for $24K .. unreal.

Hi Preston,
DallasGuns.com has one now in .470 for $4150. That is a bargain for what I have seen others going for. Two years ago at DSC, there was a table specializing in S2s. They were all highly engraved. They were running $10000 to $20000 a piece. Good luck in your S2 hunt!
Wow, that's a steal for a fine gun.

Lol. The correct answer for a 500/416 and 243 set of that quality was probably around $8500 wholesale and $11,500 (Max) retail.
The only way that rifle sells is if they take off the 243WIN barrels & scope, then drop the price into the realistic realm.

I’d loose money if someone gave me that entire set for free. :ROFLMAO:

13.75 LOP .. ouch.

The FFL dealer here claims he can receive CA imports to his store direct now, glad to hear.
6-8 Month wait, he stated "Easy @ least"

He printed the literature: "Changes to Michigan Law Regarding Sales of Firearms"
unreal ..

Due to current poltiical issues in Canada, there are virtually no carriers that can transport guns. The last one was Yellow Freight (bankrupt) so the problem is literally getting the guns to the border from the dealer on the Canada side. Borderview has import/export abilities on both sides of the border, but it takes time and costs a fair sum of money.

Be prepared to pay a lot and wait a lot. Any political changes could delay or cancel your import for a variety of reasons.
