Big Bore Addiction Group

I've seen a couple youtube videos of people shooting the .700 Nitro Express. It was very entertaining.

Gotta love those big bores.

Waiting for the opportunity to try a .600 NE double.....my gunsmith is currently putting one together...:P Elmer Fudd:

Those M70 416 Rem Mags are pretty light weight in the end. Comparing mine to the Ruger RSM 416 Rigby, huge difference in the amount od steel in the barrel. and the balance point is way farther forward on the Ruger. The Ruger weighs almost 1 1/2 pounds more. Once I get a better recoil pad and extend the LOP a bit and mount a scope, I fully expect that RSM to be darn right civilized to shoot..... But I though the Winchester was plenty heavy when carrying it 10 miles up and down hills, etc. chasing elephants!

Wow...

So the RSM is even heavier that a CZ it sounds like.

You'll def want to be in shape! I carried my CZ, with a heavy scope, and no sling on my buff hunt. My shoulder was definitely sore on day two!

Royal now that you mention it, I did weigh my CZ 505 Gibbs and if I remember correctly it was 10 pounds 5 ounces, so a couple ounces less than this RSM. And that is with the mercury tube in the stock. I bought it used but can hear it sloshing in there.

I took my sling off buffalo hunting as well. For one stalk, then put it back on when we got back to the truck. (wimped out)

That may be for the 505. I was thinking my 375 and the advertised weight. I can honestly say that a sling was never on my rifle during the entire 12 day hunt.

Now in CO elk hunting.... I can't say that I do that....

depending on what gun I take on my buff hunt im pretty sure ill want a sling on it! ive carried heavy guns for lengthy periods of time on my deer hunts and had the shoulder bruise to show for it.

Wander over here this spring and I'll pull a few strings so this will happen.

pondoro may not be interested, but i am!

ever since i held that H&H 600 NE at the SCI show ive been dreaming about the 600 NE cartridge (and that gun). i may need to buy one of those AHR 600 OK rifles and load it to 600 NE levels. ill never be able to afford a double in 600 NE... thats just too much for my income.

i also handled a 700 NE at the show but 18 pounds is too heavy for a rifle!

So I may be addicted to big bores a have a 45-70 levergun, 458lott boltgun, a 45-70 revolver, and a 500S&W revolver but I am always looking to expand my armory. :D

yup, you're in the right place!

Break open your piggy bank before you come and I'll sell you my 600 NE.

Dont know if they qualify but I also have to 10ga one break and one semi and with slugs its the hardest kicking gun I have shot.

If Matt gets the Searcy fixed and sold I wouldn't bet against it :)

I just looked and there's a picture of it here on my profile page.

But it's only a single shooter!

meh no offence but shotguns dont really count... now a 10 bore rifle would be great!

AkMike, thanks for the offer but ive never been big on single shot DG guns. id like at least one more shot in case things go south on me. id be happy to try shooting it though, ive never shot a 600 NE.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

X5i scope is perfect - thanks for an easy transaction! Buy with confidence.
Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
