@WABI was in the gun safe a couple of hours ago looking around. My vote still goes to the 7x57, but I’ve got to admit that the .22 hornet is a pretty cool little round.

He took the .300 HH case cut it down to what became ca lenght of later Norma Twins.
Slightly rebated it as not to rework a standard k98 bolt
Altered the magazine And chamber,keeping same barrel in 8mm.
