Best looking round

Not sure about any of the "manbun" rounds, but I'll play. How about an original DWM factory, Bell era, 173 gr FMJ-RN 7x57 sitting on top of Bell's drawing of elephant anatomy :)

Since you used the term "round," and as an artilleryman, I have always had a soft sot for the 105mm howitzer.

But from a pure balanced lethality perspective, nothing quite matches the 120mm APDS tank round.

@Red Leg
Does it come in a double or bolt action. Might need a good stout bipod to hold the fore end up thou.
What muzzle brake do you reckon I should use for recoil mitigation.
I think I'll just go the double , a 4 round mag on the bolt gun may be a tad heavy in that caliber.

I refer to it as the 6.5 Whelen!
@Two Tracks
That my son is pure BLASPHEMY.
putting the number 6.5 anywhere near the BELOVED AND REVERED WHELEN may result in severe dismemberment by Whelen fans.
The only places the 6.5 numbers should be used is with the 6.5x55 Swede or when discussing the displacement of you new V8.
You need need to give your self a good talking to and say 10 hail Mary's and our fathers for your transgressions of applying 6.5 to the Whelen.

It’s for a muzzle loader Bob…ready your ramrod. :E Crazy:

We call it the 6.5 BN35W (Bob Nelson 35Whelen). :LOL:

Can you hear my @Bob Nelson 35Whelen!!! Had to mention him so he sees it in his alerts.
@BeeMaa
Dear sir your humor leaves a lot to be desired. I have replied to @Two Tracks and have enlightened him of his transgressions. The same reply is applicable to you also. The other gentleman may be forgiven for putting 6.5 and the Whelen in the s a me sentence but you dear sir with your level of knowledge and knowing how I feel about the Whelen need to be taken out and publicly flogged. Continuation of such lunacy on your part dear sir may result in the loss of your beloved Blasers and condemned to damnation only to shoot (because you can't hunt wit it) a 243 in the lowest quality firearm available.
You have been warned dear sir that this indiscretion is not acceptable.

It can’t get much better than that!

Still no duplicates, although the Creedmore has been mentioned four twice - careful what you wish for!
I stand corrected, 300 H&H and 375 H&H. We need someone to start a counter.

I will perform my flogging in the form of Reloading 308 and 300wm and shooting tiny groups. :A Surrender::W Sniper:

in regards to the 6.5….. is it ok, if it’s attached to PRC or x284?

Sorry for dirtying up your thread Kevin. Seemed like a golden opportunity to poke the Australian bear. I did make an attempt to bring the seldom seen 7-30 waters to the table.

No need to post another picture, I agree with the votes for the 7x57.

@RandyF
My rod is only suitable for very large holes bigger than 2bore. Woops I was thinking of another rod not a ram rod.
Better get my mind out of the gutter.

The cartridge I like the most is the one I put a lot of thought and discussion into to develop a 25cal that exceeded my expectations. It is a combination of ideas from others combined in on cartridge.
Ackley, Epps, Newton, and Bridgeman plus my own thoughts.

You are a dear friend @Bob Nelson 35Whelen and I would be disappointed with any less of a response. I will now retire with my Blasers to cry in shame.

Cheers mate.

It's fine attached to the 284. The PRC hasn't been around long enough to prove viable. The 6.5 manbun is only popular because the company has flogged the crap out of it with advertising.
In your reloading you could always neck the 08 and 300 win up into 2 really useful rounds. Necked up to 35 you end up with the very potent little 358 and a 35 cal equivalent to the 358 Norma. 2 very useful rounds.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
