Elephant poaching in CAR - What a pity, nobody is doing anything against that mass murderer….

Everybody at DSC and SCI should have these pictures in their booths. It may be preaching to the choir but its a good start. I would rather see pictures of anti-poaching from my P.H. than a bunch of trophy pics from 5 to 10 yrs ago. Everyone who walks by should see what our hunting dollars contribute to, supporting the P.H.s and the anti-poaching patrols. Its such an important issue, especially today. Thanks for the thread, Keep it coming.

I think a short movie on how hunting and anti poaching promotes wildlife conservation should be done. Hire a good production company. Aim to get it run on national or international level.

Jaco, what is this photo about?

Brickburn Batiste(game scout with ak) theunis (appy) and Orlando (my tracker) posing with confiscated goods after we aprehended a poacher, goods contain, black powder, threaded bar, used for projectiles, a gaguda (muzzle loader), and various possesions of caught poacher.......

My best always

Jerome, I assume most of the poaching in Namibia is for meat?

Thanks Jerome that is what I thought.

Interesting thread. Thanks for posting.

being on the river we get a lot of illegal nets and explosives used for fishing, along with the animal poaching. the mosquito dragnet "fishing nets" are from between 50 metres to the longest at 75 metres. the megamite explosives are produced in SA and used in the mines in the copper belt. i sent an email with these photos to the manufacturers asking if there was any way we could identify the sticks ,and which mine they would have been sent to so we could find out where they were being stolen from, but didnt receive any answer......the 2 poachers caught with the weaponry in the first photo got approx $100.00 fine and sent on their way, even though a portion of ele hide and civet skin was found as well........a few days later the centre of the farm went up in flames and we are pretty sure it was these 2 that started it................the sable and lechwe we had to shoot. basically if caught they get a piss small fine and sent on their way. maybe with the new draft laws being brought out there might be a change, but not sure if they only are for govnt land and nature reserves......or if they will apply to private land as well

Bill and Melinda Gates have killed the small mosquito net manufacturing companies in Africa, putting people out of work in the process with their generosity. Instead of labeling them mosquito nets they should be labeled "Free poaching equipment".

spike,

I see you have some new camp rifles for us.:D

Keep up the good work.(y)

No this is not a vert putting a Radio Collar on a wild dog.

The rangers spent four very long days tracking this poor girl.
Finally darted her and removed the snare.
Hoping, she'll recover.

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
