Until about a year ago, I had never owned a Ruger No 1. I decided to buy a couple of them in 243 for my grandsons. Just this week, I bought a 7x57 and a new in box, 6.5x55, which has some really nice wood. Hope to mount a scope and get it to the range soon.

Most of my purchases are from Gunbroker or Gunsinternational. That's a beautiful pair of No.1s. The one on the right has a beautiful stock. Congrats! Did you buy them locally, or on GB?
They are indeed the perfect deer blind rifle!Very Well Done, Odonata- a No 1 in the deer stand; Good Hunting, Sir!

You may find that the short barrel won't really be best for black powder loads - fun to shoot at night though!Have just welcomed another No. 1 to the family. A .458 Win Mag, I had re-chambered to .450 Nitro Express 3 1/4", that will do double duty as .450 Black Powder Express.
