African Themed Coasters

These make excellent Christmas gifts for the hunter on your gift list!

Sent you an e-mail. I have South African neighbors and can't think of a better bar accessory for them.

I turned my coasters into a prize game at my new bar in the house. I got the idea from a local tavern that is located next to a railroad track in my home town. All the bar stools have a name on the back. When a train goes by it blows its horn as it crosses over a street. The bar tender then rings a bell hanging by the bar and spins a wheel mounted on the wall. The pie shaped areas on the wheel all have a name the corresponds to the name on the back of the bar stools. When the wheel stops he yells out the name and the person in that chair wins a free drink.

Now here is my African version. I have 10 of Jody's coasters and I bought a wheel and wrote the animal names from the coasters on them. So at my upcoming party I will spin the wheel and whatever name the spinning wheel ends on that is same as the picture on the coaster will win a small gift. Maybe a bottle of wine or some fun gag gift. Instead of the train sound starting this process I have the sound of a screaming zebra on my cell phone and a wireless speaker behind my zebra mount. I will sound off the Zebra every 45 mins until the prizes are gone. By the way my bar is called the Zebra lounge. Here are some pictures! The grand opening will be in a few weeks. :-)

Great idea @Lee M. I like your bar - looks like a classy establishment!

very classy, nice set up.maybe jody will do your round table.

@edward you mean like having a huge zebra inlay added to the table? That would be pretty cool - and in keeping with the Zebra Bar theme!

RIGHT ON!!!!

Looking good Lee

Looking good. Cool idea. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods I may have to stop at your watering hole. Gotta love the name.
My plan is to have a zebra pedestal mount in the near future. Working on the design of the pedestal now. That was the goal behind these coasters. Thanks again to all who have helped with my little dream. Look forward to posting a picture of a big stallion in August. Thanks again.

Jody I am pulling for you to get that zebra in August!

Jody - The coasters arrived today and a check's headed your way. You did a great job!!! Money well-spent.

Here's a pic of the bar at KMG Safari, seems a set of your coasters made it that far in our luggage. Willing to bet these have traveled the farthest. Jody's to Texas, Texas to Saudi, Saudi to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to South Africa.

Looks like one of Jody's set of coasters next to the pole/water bottle. Wish we could see what made it that far.

You can see the second rack next to the closest post. Sorry to say we didn't get a pic of them when they were presented.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
