A fun article about Bob's 2nd favorite caliber

I'm sorry you feel that way , Bob . To each his own , I guess . I really like it for Duiker , Sunni and the other small African antelopes . I use the 100 Gr Winchester Super X Power Point , extensively .
@Hunter Habib
It's just that I have seen to much game wounded by it by people who use the wrong projectiles. I think the 95 grain SST would be OK for game up to 100 pounds and no bigger.
I have loaded it for a few people and can't get anywhere near the velocities they say. 87 grainers with max loads struggled to make 2,900fps and not the 3,200 book velocities.
100gn at max book loads got 2,700 max not the 3,000 book velocities.
What more can I say.
Bob

That your turdy-phive is further from useful than my .243!
@Forrest Halley
A thrown rock in my book is better for game bigger than a rabbit than the 243. They still make great tomato stakes. Loaded with 87 grains it works well for loosening the soil around the barrel to relocate it
Bob

@Hunter-Habib you're strolling into a good nature elbow jabbing debate that has lasted for months now. Join in the fun of proving Ozzy Bob wrong about our beloved two-four-three! He's a staunch advocate of the .25, but his new pet the .25-20 is on the slow side of effective on game. It's a gallery gun that you can reload for QHis favorite .35 Whelan or "turdy-phive" is not commonly available like a .30-06 or a .338WM, but still he makes it out to be nearly a .375 H&H in it's mythical ability to smite the largest game.

Forest Halley , I’m just surprised that Bob didn’t mention the .308 Winchester as one of his favorites . Almost all of my Australian friends have one ( or a 30-30 Winchester or a .303 British )

@Forrest Halley.
At one stage youn Forrest when people actually stalked game there was a,truck load of game including deer taken with the 25/20
The mighty Whelen doesn't pretend to be a 375. The 375 is the Queen of Africa. The Whelen and the 9.3x62 aren't that far behind.
The 25s were around before the 6mms its just the advertising bullshit by Winchester killed of the 25s.

My son has a 308 and I still have a 303. Both great hunting rounds within their own right.

They're far behind the Queen! Lagging in the dust like a .30-30 at the 500 yard line.

Because we're busy making fun of the .243 and 6.5....and everybody who has anything bigger than a .308 knows it's nothing to talk about. It just is what it is and it's best in something semiautomatic.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
