A. Francotte Mauser 10.75x68

Sure, it does not matter which case a bullet is fired from, the most important thing is the velocity which it reaches the target. That is but the weak point with cartridges like the 10,75x68, where it is far from certain whether the necessary muzzle velocity will be reached. Theoretically a lot is possible, but in practice it often looks different, especially in older rifles caliber 10,75x68. Moreover, it is not just about velocity, the rifle also has to shoot accurate with a maximum load. There is a lot of theoretical discussion and writing about the cartridge 10,75x68.

Theory screws with a lot of things. But what isn’t theory is the fact that in a Mauser bolt action rifle, 2200fps is not the top end of velocity with a 350gr. bullet from that case. History seams to be the nemesis of this cartridge today.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
