9.3x62 where is it not legal?

well craig can have his own advice and there is the law, the late don heath fought for it and i remember the long discussions about it when i met him in salisbury as he loved to call the city ...

Legal in Zim on calibre, but not on energy. Nobody would ever say anything though as it is commonly used for DG there.
Not legal in Namibia on either calibre or power.
I think the rest is open.
Not legal in Botswana either, and some South African provinces.

Craig Boddington Claims a 9.3mm is NOT Legal on private Land in Zim for Dangerous Game?
Craig actually said the opposite. The 9.3 is not legal on government land in Zim if energy levels are not met. No energy restrictions on private land.

Hmm ...

I've been handloading 300 gr. A-Frames to 5300J in the 9.3 Mauser without issue. Recoil? It's up there in a light rifle, but hey - there's no free lunch in most endeavors' ...

I can see how it's difficult to claim meeting minimum ME using factory ammo however...
I have got the 320 grain Woodleighs up to 2350fps in the 9.3X62 with no issues, which also meets the required energy levels for Zimbabwe

Interesting, I will be hunting on private land (BVC) so I won't even need to make the 3910ft/lbs energy requirement with my 9.3 (that's if I decide to use it). Either way I have a load that meets this energy requirement, but thanks for posting, this is an interesting bit of info. I bet most people are not aware of this.

How would anyone know if your loads meet the energy requirements or not? No one is going to have a chronograph to check them.

Talking with a guide from Namibia in Nashville, it sounded like it would be OK for buffalo in Namibia. I was told no way by a guide from SA.
Depends on the guide. For my upcoming trip, the PH is fine with my 9.3 for buff as long as I'm using good bullets - A Frame and TSX mentioned by name, but I imagine North Fork would work as well, and they have a pretty good selection of bullets in .366

Dr. Kevin Robertson had a Brno 9.3x62 when he was living in Zimbabwe. The rifle was used to shoot more than 650 buffalos. According to him - it worked just fine.
The rifle was sold and left in Africa to add new buffalo’s under it’s “sling”.

Is it the best tool of last resort for a PH? Most likely not.
Is it a good tool for a client? The numbers speak for themselves.

Choose wise and shoot straight.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
