I think you should look for an optical rifle scope that suits your hunting style and shape rather than the caliber of your rifle.
In this instance the caliber/cartridge and the scope I’m pairing with it match up almost perfectly with my hunting preferences.
That would be for a first time trip to Africa (Zimbabwe) with a medium bore heavy hitter on my current list of eland, kudu, bushbuck and nyala if available. The push feed M12 will be just fine for larger PG and get me there quicker than what I really want which is an M98 375 h&h (five times the cost of the M12).
I really prefer taking any shot well under 200 yds if at all possible, and hopefully under 100.
Now if I ever get the M12 here is another question. It’s been a little over 4 months since I ordered it, which I understand 3-4 months was normal before covid (at least for the folks I ordered through). Thanks to covid I’m probably not going to get too impatient until 5 or 6 months comes along.
