I can use lots of different bullets with the 375. But for now I mainly hunt roe deer and decided for the time being using this light bullet.

More than a dozen roe deer shot. All DRT. Speed kills and this light bullet does it fast and with flat shooting.

Would the authorities look at the Thompson Center Encore with numerous barrels as one rifle? There would be one serial # & one receiver.
yes it is a single shot, but if they considered it one rifle you could have your bolts or doubles for things that bite & the Encore for other things.

Sure that is no problem. If a bought a blaser r8 with 10 switch barrels it still will count as one.

To be honest it was already on it when I bought it and I really got fond of it. Crystal clear glass and 4x magnification is most of the time enough. But lately I am thinking to buy the Kaps Classic 2-8x42mm. I do not like the really big scopes.

Well done!! Seems we have the same taste in optics. In one of my 7x57 I put a Zeiss Diatal DA 4X32 I bought new in 1972...still cristal clear as any new 4x scope and solid as a vault because it's not centered reticle. Well mounted it is not an issue. Perhaps not as well sealed as the modern ones. Thats all.
And I like a lot that Kaps 2-8x42 scope!!!

Love me some mauser actions.. have always thought Zastavas were a whole lot of great rifle for the money.. and since Im a lefty...

Finally got Zastava 375 cleaned up stock , got rid of roll over cheek piece & imitation fore end tip & flared pistol grip cap , fitted genuine ebony fore end & steel grip cap, under the brown mud stock finish, there was a reasonable bit of walnut, need to rust blue steel grip cap& floor plate screws, ones on rifle were Phillips head & did not look right. The metal work is very well finished, bolt was a bit rough i fixed that also,

it feeds & extracts like silk , range report asap.

These Zastava rifles are starting to tickle my fancy. I love the original Mauser action. I currently own 3 Mauser action rifles and have owned another 2 previously.

The only drawback is they make 375 H&H and 458 win mag on medium action, with modest magazine capacity if that is acceptable. RIfle weight in those two calibers on medium action is 3.9 kg (as compared to for example ZKK 602 375 HH, which weights 4.2 kg), so zastava could be a bit more lively on recoil.

I have a Browning A Bolt in 375 that is left handed. That satisfies my itch in the 375 bracket. What I fancy is a 300 H&H using a Zastava action in left hand drive.

My thoughts on the Zastava MK M70 prior to buying one second hand was they were a very roughly finished POS. I purchaced one in 375H&H for $725.00
from a person that decided that ammo was too expensive & recoil from the bench with 300 grain factory ammo was too much, it had 15 rounds through it. I thought may be i could turn a pigs ear into a silk purse.
On stripping the rifle down & cleaning it up the metal work is very well finished. An all steel M98. With an Excellent internal barrel finish with a fully adjustable trigger, now set at 3 pounds.
The stock is very poorly finished & poorly bedded i think they must have a rat at the factory that chews out the barrel channel & with a brown finish like mud hiding some reasonable timber, after some reshaping & fitting a steel grip cap & Ebony fore end tip & Epoxy bedding the action it looks much better .
The magazine holds 3 it feeds & extracts like silk & i can not see how the action length or magazine is too short for the 375.
In all i think they are a hidden gem .

Currently have 3 Zastava rifles and all are good performers, they almost always shoot really well, despite the unfounded reputation of "soft barrels" that has been tossed around for years, a lot of hooey it is.
My custom 8x64s is Zastava based on a 8x57 barrel and it shoots like a house a fire. My first Zas, a Whitworth .375 was bought in 1984 and made 3 trips to Africa and has many rounds thru its soft barrel and still shoots MOA no problem when I do my part.
Actually I have 4, forgot my early first year .458 Whitworth. It doesnt get much exercise, guess I better drag it out.

There are known issues with the earlier mini actions, which have a horrible feel to them i.e., like a stainless steel action where every part is made of the same steel (with resultant binding and galling) BUT I get the impression that the 21st century actions are made from better steel with a heat treatment that eliminates that horrible feel.
In regard to the larger actions, it has always seemed to me that careful polishing (or simply use) solves any issues with brand new out of the box Zastava M70s.

Heard the name Zastava, but this thread is the most I have ever read about them. Never seen an actual Zastava rifle . The picture of the bolt action rifle looks good and the text says they are good too.
Most of my rifles are Winchesters, so I mostly ignore other makes and know little about them.
