It is fun to reflect on what I thought would happen and what actually did.2021 21 day July Family safari with Jamy Traut safaris PH Louw Lotter. Hippo and PG. this was delayed from 2020.
Fall 2021: idaho Elk, Montana elk/antelope/deer.
Cancelled 2020 events that may happen include the UK and Japan. If we go to Puerto Rico again for the Xmas holidays I want to hunt iguana.
2022?? The Mrs. lives to travel. She is coming around to the idea of dual purpose trips with some hunting. I’m hoping to hunt in the UK somewhere, as I’m sure we will be there. Assuming she enjoys the 2021 Safari, my chances of some type of repeat are good.
2021: we completed the postponed family safari, although it was 28 total days. My vegetarian daughter became a hunter!
Fall 2021: yes on elk, deer and antelope. Fishing in the Bahamas.
2022: deer and antelope completed. No luck on elk this year. But, big success on getting a bunch of teen boys (and my beekeeper buddy!) out for their first animals (and Felipe and deer) in Montana.
Next: deer hunting in England over Xmas break, December 15th I fly over to visit my daughter and hunt with her.
2023: June: hippo for above mentioned daughter.
2024: my son will have graduated, that spring, so who knows what kind of flexibility my spouse will allow.
PS: my good friend once remarked that when he went on a hunting trip, he would return to his house and find his wife had bought a new piece of furniture (to balance out the discretionary spending for each spouse.) I find that accurate, so I work and save accordingly.
