No, .22 Magnum minimum? LOLPeople have killed moose with a .22 LR, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Not likely. You’ll definitely see that when you get into the 131gr blackjacks though.?stabilisation issues?
@CoElkHunterYes, but the question is why? They have larger calibers in TTSX? I'm calling Barnes tomorrow for what that's worth. I'll give them your name and number Bob and tell them the hunters in OZ are about to riot over no 115gr. .257 TTSXs! LOL
@Dewald
If you would be happy with the 350 Rigby you should be happy with the Whelen and a 310gn round nose at 2,400fps as well.
Bob

i have heard that at some point in the 40-50s Roy Weatherby shot and harvested a cape buffalo with a 257 Weatherby magnum. I think its an interesting story and I want to hear some view points.
Absurd pricing!@PerH

Bob,
.256 Newton?Title could be stated differently. Heard the rumor as well. Weatherby genuinely may have been curious and was "experimenting." I believe it was at least a little bit of a marketing/advertising stunt though. More importantly after many years of field experience by untold numbers of hunters we know definitively that there are many far better suited cartridges than the 257 weatherby for Cape Buffalo.
Wow! 1800 Nok is 1,213.65 Chinese Yuan! I'm out! LOLYikes
That is 1800 Nok , for 25 pieces, thats awful. Can just hope for more Woodies to get back into shops again
Bertram do they make bonded ones ,or just cup core ?
@CoElkHunterIn solidarity with this thread, I took my Savage 110 .25-06 to the range this afternoon. 200 yards with factory 117gr. Hornady Interlock ammo. A little windy (20mph) from the west. Target faces North. Top target from the bench with a Harris bipod and rifle butt against my shoulder. Bottom target off my standing Bog bipod sticks. None of it great, but probably good enough for a head shot on a buffalo …….. or a camel? Ha! Ha! Ha! You guys are KILLING ME with some of these threads! LOL
Stuff like this is why they have caliber restrictions nowThe .257 Wby is a fine cartridge. It is not a buffalo cartridge. I have no doubt he did it, however Roy’s position on terminal ballistics was questionable at best. He encouraged a generation of hunters to attempt many irresponsible stunts.
