450 Rigby and whether to scope or not?

My recommendation would be the lightest and most compact LPVO ever designed (that I know of at least), i.e. Leupold fx-2,5 Ultralight. The added benefit is its’ generous 4,9 inch eye relief.

GPX files for Garmin, borders of Zim Hunting areas?

Hi all, Does anyone have any recommendations for where to find Garmin compatible gpx-files with the borders of Zimbabwe’s more famous Hunting areas - outer borders of for example Chewore, Dande, Omay, etc? Would be fin to import the borders to my Garmin handheld device, as overlays to the map...

For Sale Rigby Big Game SSB In 416 Rigby

Nice one, good luck with the sale (should not be difficult). I suffer with you because of your referenced need to reorganize your battery due to overlap between several beautiful cartridges/calibres in the same category - an unpleasant and undesireable necessity I am all too familiar with myself

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Agree with your questions 100%. These design flaws are among the very few weaknesses of the BRNO rifles. I do think however that this was changed with the release of the CZ 550 lineup that was launched after BRNO’s 600, 601 and 602 models were discontinued sometime in the 80’s or so? Not 100%...

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Trigger from Wayne at AHR arrived today and is now successfully installed. The long straight top part that connects with the action sear has a better fit with the sear than the original trigger, due the slightly longer distance between action and bottom metal (an effect from the glass bedding of...

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Yes, bottom metal and action seem to be 1-2 mm further apart than when installed in original stock, and I think that may be the problem.

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Thanks all, I really appreciate everyone’s ideas and comments - really great!! [emoji106] I have ordered a new trigger från American Hunting Rifles, which (due to its’ design) should fit better with the sear. Will update this thread again once the new trigger is installed and tried out!

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Theoretically yes, that could be it. But since it works 99% of the times, and has only failed to work specifically when I attempt to fireform 416 brass, I'm not sure.

The stock is actually an standard CZ550 stock, so not quite original for the Brno 602 (but almost)

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

It is not too short, but I am fairly sure that the interlocking between trigger and sear (as mentioned in your comment above) is where the problem lies. What I can’t figure out is why only some cartridges seem to cause problems (trigger mechanism is a long way from the chambered cartridge)?

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Thanks @R.M.C. :) ! Yes, I love it. It was made from one of the fore foots of my 2020 buffalo bull (hunted with Ernest Dyason from @Spear Safaris ), by Trophy Solutions in Limpopo. I hope your zebra tray comes out very nice!

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

@Ontario Hunter - it is glass bedded all the way (from fore-end of the stock through both the front- and rear mounting points of the action).

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Thanks for posting your reply, @deewayne2003. I think you may be on to something here. Could very well be related to the somewhat special design of the Brno's trigger being attached to the floor plate rather than to the mechanism itself. I suspect that even a minimal deviation in brass...

Trigger stuck (could not fire), Brno 602

Has anyone else ever experienced that after closing the bolt on a Brno Zkk-602 (or a 600), the trigger gets stuck and is impossible to pull (i.e the firning pin doesn’t release and the cartridge therefore can’t be fired)? I experienced this today in my 602 which is a 450 Rigby, re-chambered...

@Phil Giordano - thanks for a very interesting thread [emoji106] I am myself the owner of a 450 Rigby, based on a Brno 602 converted by from its’ original 458 Win Mag caliber (I had it re-chambered and the bolt face opened up). I would absolutely love if you wanted to send that full Craig...

Greetings all, I am a passionate and dedicated hunter from way up north, in cold Scandinavia. I have however not previously contributed much to the AH...
