Interesting interview on game farming and Put and Take

45 000 USD for a buffalo in a ranch in Texas? You can go in the most remote and wild, unfenced place in Africa for this price and have enough money left for taxidermy.

Interesting interview on game farming and Put and Take

I hunted buffalo in 2022. My first dream was to hunt the "wild" Africa. After looking at various opportunity, I realised I just did not have the money for a hunt in Zambia, for example. So I made a 180 and turn back my view to SA. I did shot a buffalo. A really good bull that was NOT where it...

    New Buffalo call your shot

Red is the perfect spot. The bullet is going to end just behind the opposite shoulder. That's if I'm seeing correctly. 375 H&H loaded with Barnes 270 grains TSX.

Texas pig vs. Cape Buffalo - 375cal 270gr TSX - feedback welcome

I've shot one buffalo with the 270 grains TSX. Fired from an H&H, my load was 69,5 grains of H4895. 1st shot was 100% frontal just in the hole above the sternum. Bullet ended in the paunch. Second shot was broadside in the ribs. Bullet ended encased in the ribs of the other side. Third shot was...

    What did you reload today?

Burning 72,5 grains of H1000 through a 18.5 inches barrel is a receipe for a great ball of fire! The suppressor probably minimize that.

    Shoulder bump or neck size?

If you only neck size, one day you'll end with a stuck cartridge in your chamber. I've experienced it myself. Hunting rounds should be partial sized with a full lenght die.

    H4350

I would start at 72 grains and work up one grain at a time until desired accuracy and velocity is attained. For me, anything in the 2450-2550fps with a 300 grains bullet in the 375HH is perfect. I found a lot of variation between diverse loads database for the 375HH. So a chronograph is your...

    Barnes tsx

According to my little experience with these bullets, the 270 grains TSX fired at 2600 fps from a 375 H&H will start to expand even in an Impala.

    Barnes tsx

I've seen the effect of a .470 Nosler flat point solid through a buffalo. It's like if you'd drive a pencil through the flesh without no other damages. Not even a little bruising around the hole. Solids are good if they break major bones. Otherwise, they are about as effective as a pencil. I'll...

    That's true for any bullet.

    Barnes tsx

I shot 2 impalas with the 270 grains Barnes TSX. The second one was shot through the ribs behind the shoulder. He ran may be 50 yards before collapsing. According to the exit hole, it was clear the bullet had expand. May be not fully, but enough to cause enough internal damages to the lungs.
  24. Qc_BearHunter

    Barnes tsx

If passing trough is a potential problem on buffalo, try a 270 grains instead. From my experience of one buffalo, bullet from a frontal shot will end in the paunch, and bullet on broadside shot will stop in the hide of the other side. That's what I'll use on my next hunt. They also perform...

HELP.. Imr 4350 Swift Aframe 300 Grain .375 h&h Load Data

I've seen some IMR 4350 loads with 300 grains bullets going up to 80 or 81 grains but they are in older manual. Like said earlier, a chronograph is really your best friend when developing handloads. A 125$ Chrony will do the job just fine.

Happy with .375 H&H load results

You’re lucky! Sometimes it’s is not as easy. For example, my BRNO ZKK 602 shoots all over the paper with the Hornady 270 grains SP. I tried 3 or 4 powders and the best I got was 3-4 inches groups. I finally gave up with this bullet.
