Actually its not that bad, it holds 54gr's of water, 4 more than the Remington and 3 less than the 358 Win. A bit of load testing with the powders that I have on hand give me about 2100 FPS with 180 gr pills, so I need to try some different powders.....any suggestion anyone ?? I'm going to...

OxfordTheCat, the 375 x 2-1/2 FNE is not a " necked out 303 " it is a completely different case, based on the 303 but longer. The 375/303 IS a " necked out 303 "......the last sentence makes no sense....I apologise if this sounds rude.

Just for clarification... The 375 x 2-1/2" flanged nitro express is the " 303 " style cartridge, the two and a half inch length being the identifier. The 375 H &H Flanged Magnum is the rimmed version of the Holland and Holland 375 Magnum. Roger

549, to fit the 375 HH Flanged Magnum into a P14 ( probably the only action for this conversion ) takes a lot of modifications to the action. I converted a P14 to 9.3x74R ( slightly longer than the 375 ) and it involves a lot of metal removal, new mag box, etc, etc, and on and on.... There...

Thanks Longwalker, my mistake, I have been using S&B and Norma rounds in my Enfield, the Norma being the stronger round but no problems so far. I have three No.1's......7x57R, 257 Roberts rimmed ( same case ) and an LSA in 375x2 1/2 FNE.... Roger

From the pics I assume the knurled collar works like the barrel nut on a Savage.....what is the smaller knurled piece to the left on the 2/5 pic ?? is it fixed or does it slide ?? Roger

323....The Slee stock is already fitted to the lighter barrel....depending on the weather as to which stock I use... Roger

I'll rechamber the original barrel first, but it I think it might be a bit light. At the moment it's in a Butler Creek synthetic stock but I also have a Slee xxx walnut for it that I bought from Geoff back in the 80's. Roger

A bit more on the knife I started back on page 28 of this thread.....rough shaped up a piece of Ironbark for the handle, still a bit if shaping and sanding to go but taking shape.. More radiusing around finger hole, etc. The handles are only held on by double sided tape for roughing out...
