If you haven't already, test the trigger on the BLR. They quite often leave much to be desired if you're accustomed to what a good trigger feels like.

When you refer to using 16ga "Kent Tungsten", would that be Tungsten-Matrix? If so, what were your reasons for choosing that over a lead load? As well, if TM, where did you find 2 1/2" 16ga loads?

For me, yes. This rifle has never been one to hold tight groups. Most factory ammo I've tried (a dozen or more) shoot 2"-2 1/2" groups at 100yds. Federal Fusion 140gr is the one round it will shoot moderately well- 1 1/4" or so. The current factory trigger simply isn't that good. Replacing it...

I had been leaning towards Triggertech prior to posting today. The bolt release being finicky seems to be the one issue some have encountered. Would I be correct in assuming you haven't run in to that with your's, Mark?

Kent Gamebore offered 12ga paper hull/fibre wad cartridges at one time. Unsure if they're still a catalogued item and, if they are, current US availability. Woodcock Hill (570-864-3242) would be one source to contact in regards to the shells you're after. Not sure if they survived the pandemic...
