    .348 Winchester

I havent ran them thru a chronograph yet but factory ammo is supposed to be around 2520fps. With the 250gr the factory ammo ran about 2300fps. ( I think ) I am not really interested in trying to hot rod this round I will just be staying around factory velocities.

    Caliber 30-30 use in Africa???

Yeah I had a think about it and I am now thinking 170gr for the 30-30 just in case you run into something bigger. 250gr for the 348.

    Caliber 30-30 use in Africa???

Now keep in mind that I have never seen a big cat so take this with a grain of salt. I imagine that they are fairly thin skinned animals and just looking at them I would think if I were to be carrying my 30-30 trapper I would not be under gunned, I have shoot hundreds of pigs and feral...

    wild dog /dingo attacks

Found another pic. These are the typical Dingo you will find running around NT they are not a big animal and a quite timid, I was always told if I was not sure I could make a good first round hit on a Dingo not to take the shot because you will never see it again if you miss. The...

    wild dog /dingo attacks

Good write up mate. Good way to spend a few days. I find dingos tend not to be to interested in people but they are getting crossed with domestic dogs and losing there fear of humans. I spent a year or so working outside of Halls Creek WA and the dingos over there are huge compared...
