    Should I cut my 375 H&H barrel?

It almost sounds like you place a New Have M70 above the RSM... that is silly... I think I am going ahead with the chop on my .458 Lott... I think 20" off the tube, with the factory front sight set back and about 3/8" off the buttocks, even though I am 6'4"... I am not afraid of the scope.

    Should I cut my 375 H&H barrel?

Would you cry if I did a chop on my Ruger RSM Lott??? LOL I have debated on it many times and may still do it. I think the balance of the RSM would be greatly improved at 20" or 21".

    Botswana - plains game?

The only thing worse than taking my wife on safari, that I can think of, is golfing with her.... we tried wallpapering together one time... it didn't end well.... it was a toss-up between homicide and suicide... or both.

    Should I cut my 375 H&H barrel?

This makes no sense. It's great if it is a factory carbine, but making a carbine is somehow butchery? I respect your experience in Africa, but I have lived and worked with a rifle in hand for 40+ years... I have "carbined" more than a couple dozen of them, not once was the accuracy affected in a...

    Botswana - plains game?

Do the research and there are lots of excellent, affordable experiences available. I have contacted over 150 operators over the past few years. The picture becomes clear when you do this, the lowend, barnyard hunts get thrown out, the ultra highend, way out of your budget hunts, get thrown out...

    Botswana - plains game?

Discount has 7 days for two buffalo cows for $4700. You just have to be aware of what it is your going into in advance... drop the dreams of toiling for days, mile upon mile, on millions of free range acres amidst the roaring of lions and trumpeting of elephant.

    Pics of your .458WM's

They work great, I have one on my .458 (4 down) and 7.62X57 (5 down)... it didn't work on my .375 WSM as the WSM case body is a smidgen too wide.

P.S - Also have the Alaska Arms Coffin Mag Plate on to give me an extra round in the mag, and NECG sights. It weighs in at 9 1/2 pounds with five rounds of the 450 TSX loaded.

    Pics of your .458WM's

I have had many, many .458's over the years.. My current Ruger M77 Mark II carbine is pictured below (bottom rifle)... it wears a 20" #4 Bob Jury barrel, in a B&C stock, with a Leupold VX-3HD 1.5-5X20 IR mounted... very fast on target. I also have a Ruger RSM in .458 Lott.

    Pair Sauer 101s in 7x64 & .243

Very nice rifles, congrats. Not a fan of the red recoil pads, but then I also prefer flannel to lingerie. Knock 'em down in the Karoo.

    Botswana - plains game?

You can do both in Northern Namibia, lots of operators there to chose from.

    Botswana - plains game?

Sounds like you want to complete the Spiral Slam.... if that is the case, I would be inclined to go to a free range outfit that specializes in the Spiral Species. That is probably not Botswana, at least not Okavango.... more over East toward Zim and South toward Limpopo.

    Botswana - plains game?

If plains game specifically are your focus, there are better places to go, IMO, depending of course on what your focus is. Botswana is likely going to be significantly more costly than a similar experience and game in Namibia. If you are focusing on buffalo or elephant, Botswana is a great...
