My son and I are heading to South Africa again to join Marius in an Eastern Cape adventure. This report will move slowly as I plan to have my phone off for most of it. Periodic pictures to follow, and then a full report complete with my trademark typos will follow.

We had an absolutely stellar time with @Kevin Peacocke We had great food, fine wine and amazing company with others at the Rand Club. I cannot recommend this place more. You can stay here too. What a great start to the trip!

Thanks for the great evening Pheroze and Nuval. All, Rand Club is a real anachronistic gem, we must support these special places - why stay in a boring hotel when you can stay in a grand piece of history?

Where is this place? Doing an EC safari next summer and will have to overnight in joberg- if it’s there I’ve got to stay there
