Good Gun Deals This Week

Here's possibly undervalued Dumoulin double rifle in 9.3x74R, with an estimate of €3,000 - 3,500 (plus 28.8% commission), coming up for sale in Paris. At that price, it is actually cheaper than a (boxlock, side-plated) Chapuis in the same calibre that I bought in London (although mine was almost new and came with a Swarovski illuminated scope, excellent engraving and wood, and a leather case).

This is the blurb, from Google Translate:

Express with H. Dumoulin plates caliber 9.3X74R (n°13745) fitted with a Schmidt & Bender 1.25-4x20 bezel. 63 cm rifled barrels, walnut pistol grip. Double trigger, articulated first trigger. Ejector. Beautiful floral prints. Total length 104cm. Category C1 c - Subject to declaration.

To check: barrel condition, length of pull. Does it have a case? Not quite sure whether it is a sidelock action - seems to be, given the pins - or a boxlock with plates.

We Englanders have our own opinions about dubious Gallic cleanliness, but with a bit of London oil the woodwork should glow nicely. The gold wash on the triggers is a bit bling-y, but I suppose that you can pretend that you are a rap star when you shoot the rifle. The icing on the cake would be to replace the Schmidt & Bender with a Swarovski illuminated scope, although it is not really necessary.

that's indeed a beautiful made rifle. And in excellent condition too. I see Dumoulin sxs double rifles quite often here in Belgium, but they are mostly shot out and have been abused over their lifetime. This is an almost as-new looking one.

For the above referenced Sabatti, 2.5" 60 yard groups with the loading data worked out by Ken Owen.
It's not a old Rigby or even a Heym, but for $5600 it's a .500 double rifle that shoots both barrels to the same minute of buffalo!

That’s what I was thinking!

Thanks but are these both push feed rifles?
Yes they both appear to be push feed however I just got off the phone with Ryan out in Cabela's Gun Library in Massachusetts in reference to the first rifle listed he says it is control round feed( I still have my doubts) also asked him if it really is 4 round or 3 round capacity 3 round was his reply

Yes, they are push feed, pics show it. No CRF in those 2 rifles. Many gun sellers have no clue.
There is one guy on GB listing a 70's vintage M70 in .308 and he calls it CRPF which means control round push feed, which does exist.
However his rifle is just PF and I pointed it out to him some time ago, and he still hasnt changed it, and of course his asking price is sky high.

How can you tell they're push feed based on those pics? Don't you need to see the bolt face to tell?

Another Dumoulin I found:

Dumoulin, no engraving (that I can tell) in .416 REM , with a Swaro 1.25-4x24 scope on a pivot mount. For 3250€ (=about 3350USD) in an excellent condition.

You don't need much info to tell a push feed versus a controlled round feed gun. Go look at pictures of pre-64s and mausers. See the extractor that sticks out of the action, attached to the bolt? That's it.
