Trump slams elephant hunting..(!)

Good point would this even be a question if Hillary was president. Im pretty sure we would be fighting to keep leopard and giraffe imports by now. He appointed Zinke and Zinke has quietly been pushing a hunter friendly agenda. If he has to tweet no more elephants while Zinke pushes a prohunting agenda, we gain in the long run.

Also, look at Trump and DACA he got rid of it so Congress could do something. If the SAVES Act passes, he will not veto it and go well I tried, do his Trump shrug, and say but Congress did their job.

In the mean time a liberal talking head called Trump a man of reason...I think that is the real story here.

As sportsman, our job needs to hold our congressmen and women accountable. The President has more important things on his plate then elephant imports from a handful of countries.

However, if anyone would like to petition to make me the ambassador of Zimbabwe, I will work tirelessly to get this ban lifted as a way of growing economic relationship with a natural resource rich country and to minimize Chinese influcence .

Best point in this entire thread and one that those who are up in arms against Trump due to the elephant situation have somehow missed, or are so far removed that they are ignornant of.

Does anyone really feel worse about the future of hunting today than they did in October 2016, or how about late July 2015, how did you feel then? Better than today?

Keep fighting. Quit whining everytime there is a setback. Figure out what YOU can do about it.

Ok, state of the union starting. If Trump doesn't announce the lifting of the elephant ban in the first five minutes I'm turning it off.

And sending a check to Hillary!

I don’t apologize for stating truth.

Please, wake up:

And by the way, I’ve equally as many bones to pick with Clinton (or Obama) as I do Trump (in other words, the Dems and the GOP). Why? I’ve not been brainwashed by the talking heads.

I’ll leave it here. Say what you want. I’m done.
No one said you should apologize for telling the truth. In this case however its not necessarily the truth its just your opinion. What you need to apologize for is insulting your fellow hunters and AH members for your insults towards us. You seem reluctant to man up and do so however so I guess we will be waiting a long time for one.

I thought Zinke was acting on the advice of a study the USFWS commissioned. What was the process for that review supposed to be? Has it been extended or just shelved?

Shelved.

If SCI had just kept its mouth shut this likely wouldn't have even become an issue, but they just had to try and take immediate credit.

Ok, import them to @ Brickburn. Brickburn, cross the Hyder Alaska, Canada border. No border ID needed. Dropem off and get the heck out. ..............

Hmmmm. This is starting to sound like a drug run at low altitude.
I'll have to work up a budget for the plane, fuel, pilots license, etc.

Oh crap....

I feel another detailed spreadsheet coming.... :A Banana Sad:

Wonder why they are the 1%? Stocks maintain and grow their wealth, unlike spending it on stuff not needed. Now why is this here?We are talking about ivory.

I'm trying to grow a stockpile of Ivory so I can be in that 1%. You guys have to hurry up and get hunting.

Philip Glass
What re some ways he’ll use this?
You never know but everything he does is a calculation, a chess move. I’ve not figured this one out yet and I’m as upset with him as anyone. I will wait to see......

That's the disappointing part. I think if Trump has simply talked to Zink before Tweeting, Zink likely would have explained that the decision was science based. Then Trump could simply have made a statement to that effect. But Trump is Trump, he's an egotistical ahole. But that seems to be part of what got him elected. As did his straight shooting and at least perceived immunity from political correctness.

Well unfortunately he picked this issue to be politically correct on. Obviously calculated to have the least political downside as I'm sure he knows that when hunters are standing in the voting booth faced with a choice, he will still be the lesser evil to most of us.

I am obviously disappointed and pissed off about this... But yea, he is way better than the alternative.

He threw us under the bus - politician already

Media is scrutinizing the elephant situation. I get the chess part. Next move will be the Saves Act or something like that.

Me think you people have some lame excuses on behalf of your (beloved) President..

Nothing wrong with non-trophy hunting....done it frequently, but the affluent, who made this industry ticking demand their trinkets, like it or not. I enjoy the hunt itself immensely but a permanent ban is in my opinion the road to peridition ie the antis will gain support and the whole thing will dwindle down to nothing and the poaching will increase....Kenya revisited.

What will be banned next..??
I am going after mountain lion next. The writing is on the wall tbere.

The boat will have to be from Hyder to Anchorage. Don’t worry about border crossing. No ID needed. The Anchorage plane will go to Seattle. From there, Continental U.S. @ Brickburn handles Canada to Hyder Alaska. I will handle Alaska once I get $2000. What’s next? Polar bears? Leopards? Black faced impalas? Seals?:D:DNow, lets donate to the Trump Foundation!

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
