That is true, he got snookered by the demtards, they broke their promise to him. It was supposed to be a trade off. Don't know that one can make some kind of connection to what happened in the 80's to now but I suppose anything is possible in the minds of some, especially haters of Reagan and Trump.....
Its called a precedent...If a president 30 years ago gave amnesty to 2 million illegals its probably going to be a lot easier to do it again. Precedents kind of tend to be important in politics and law... I would also add that the demographics of the illegals back then and in the present are probably pretty similar- in that most of them of economic migrants from Mexico and from other parts of Latin America. Bush senior also had some sort of amnesty program if I am not mistaken- albeit to a much smaller degree. What happened in the 80s didn't happen in a vacuum its really not that hard to connect the dots to the present. So I am a bit confused as to why you think it is completely unrelated to the DACA b.s. today ?
I don't hate Reagan nor do I hate Trump. Neither has done anything to harm me or my family. However, I also don't think that either of them is some kind of messiah and the greatest thing since sliced bread. Granted, for what my opinion is worth, would say that Reagan was a good president- while he did have, in my opinion, some really bad policies he did have good ones.
As far as Trump goes well I think that him wanting to scrap any talk of DACA an giving amnesty to people who broke the law to get into the US in the first place is amazing. However, his bombastic rhetoric and comments, may have actually had the opposite effect...
But apart from that I fail to see what is so great about him? People reference the stock market- its had pretty strong growth since 2012 according to the chart below:
https://seekingalpha.com/article/40...-tops-25-trillion-1_9-trillion-since-election
Unemployment has also seen a pretty steady decline in recent years and when Trump took office it was I think under 5%. So how much of this credit goes to him- is difficult to say.
US military spending is by far the highest in the world and its several times more than second placed China. Its been like that long before Trump took office... So what has Trump or his administration done that has vastly improved military spending??
Don't get me wrong I definitely agree with virtually everyone on this thread that Trump was a better choice than Hillary. But where I do differ is that I really don't see what is so amazing about the guy or why he is such a fantastic president? What has he actually achieved that has actually "made America great again" ??
I also have a problem with how he seems to neglect hunters and gun owners after the election. He was far more pro gun and I think he made a few pro-hunting statements during the election, which he has since forgotten. Yet given that a large portion of Americans own guns, most probably tend to vote Republican more than Democrat, and some of that portion hunts- I think its safe to say these 2 demographics played a large role in his victory especially in some key battleground states where he won with slight margins, yet carried all the electoral college votes from those states.
