Hi Chris, PM sent !

@Mbizi Safaris , its been said a few time here but what a deal. I know if I hadn't just got a buff last year, I would be coming to Zambia this year on this hunt and adding a hippo and a few others! Best of luck this year!

Thank you Reedy, looking forward to see you at Mbizi in the future !
All the best,
Michael

Sir please give me reasonable size expectation. Is 42 inches plus possible. Also what distance per day should hunter be prepared to walk thank you

Jacques Smith, thanks for the questions. I will never guarantee trophy sizes on buffalo, that would not be correct from our side. I would say that you will have a good hard bossed bull within 37-40 inch. Distance per day... also very hard to say because in early morning when we pick up tracks you can be on them after a kilometer, sometimes you get contact after 4 km so I would say that minimum 4-5 km as per day, it would not be 25-30 km per day anyhow. The area is hilly and and with thick vegetation in some places, so therefore the buffalo's do not move very long distances as in some other parts of Africa where you find more open savanna biotop.

Outstanding Price!!! I noticed that you also offer Black Lechwe and Sitatunga, but in a different area. How much would each of those animals costs? Any other additional costs involved? Could we pull it off during the 8 days or would I need to add on more days?

Regarding the Chobe Bushbuck that is also a must for this hunt. What size can one expect?

I love to hunt hard, and pass quite a bit. For 8 hard days of Buffalo hunting, without a itchy trigger finger what can I expect in size for both the Buff and Bushbuck? Thanks!!

Sir thank you for response but you seem to have misunderstood. I'm certainly not asking about guarantees as a North American outfitter I wouldn't guarantee as it's not done on this side either. The guestion was simply if the hunter puts in the time and effort does the possibility exist As I have looked across at Zambia several times and priced many hunts i belief your offer is excellent and I wish you the best. Regards. Jacques

Thanks Jacques, no I was read that you wrote expectations... So, with expectations I can mention that the 5 largest Cape buffalo taken in Zambia came from the other side of Luangwa river from us at West Petauke, it's score 122 sci points and was 47" it was taken a 1998. I will not say that it's a "realistic expectations" to start looking for a 47"buff anywhere in Africa, same as someone looking for +100 pound elephant this days... I know many outfitters state that you can take a 42-44" buffalo, but then they must fallow up this to the clients expectations.

So, I will still say the realistic size of a Luangwa bull will be 37-41 inch.

Best regards,
Michael

Hello Harry, Yes we can arrange the Sitatunga and Black Lechwe up in Bangweulu wetlands, I would recommend to start the buffalo for 7 days at Mbizi, when the buffalo is taken we flying directly from Mbizi to Bangweulu for Sitatunga and Lechwe. If you are interested send me you email on a PM and will send you more information.

Regarding Chobe Bushbuck, there is some nice ones taken here, we have a old one that a snap a photo of some time ago with left tip of the horn broken off, and a decent one from a trail-camera in a natural salt cave. Also Marc N from Rigby took a good one here a couple of years ago (attached photos). But they are plenty of them here...
Regards, Michael

Malaria and yellow fever recommended

Morning cls, I recommend everyone that should hunting in Luangwa Valley to take malaria prophylaxis like Malarone or Lariam with start two weeks before the safari, 1 tablet per week and 2 weeks after the safari. Yellow fever vaccin should also be on the "to do list" before you visit Zambia.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
