Your 3 favorite hunting cartridges of all time

For plains game 300 WM, everything in the world 375 H&H. One gun, 375 H&H hand down.

.308win - The "Do all" cartridge

.44 Remington magnum- "Do all" carbine round of the brushlands

6.5x55Swede- Underraded and unjustly overlooked

In my bigamous setup was one of my first wives a 30-06. And still is.
Although. I must confess that a 308. Does with 180 grain-. And lighter bullets. What the 30-06 does. With a lot less propellant.
And as far as the Swede goes. In my language. Masterly.

Do you have experience with the 10.75? I am fascinated with metric, obscure and nostalgic calibers, luckily it's not always all about the highest ft/s and ft.lb and the newest and shiniest.
Yes,.. I do....

Bushby.
Every single real hunter treading the earth started off with a 22LR. Including me. And overlooked when commenting here.
Well done. Sir!

I started with a Daisy BB gun- the 22 came a few years later.

Actually referred to the first steps with gun powder.
Yes Ray B.
I can not truly recall how many tomes 10,000 .177" pellets I fired off.

Although I answered a few years ago, always good to update.

.22LR
.243 Winchester
.300 Holland & Holland
.375 Holland & Holland
12 Gauge Shotgun

That’s three center fire rounds, bracketed by absolute necessities.

It is interesting to see how this thread has not only stayed alive but flourished over the years.

6mm rem.
375hh
470ne
28 ga.
It's not a rifle round but there's something about that little 28 that's just fun to hunt with.

A Brno Express O/U double in .375 H&H and a Merkel 211 O/U comibation gun in 12 ga. / .30-06 Springfield,.... with an insert barrel in .223 Remington.

One can find ammunition all over the world.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
