Your 2025 Hunt Plans?

Have an elk hunt in September of 2025 in the Kootenay mountains of BC and hunting whitetail here in Alberta in the fall.

Did Namibia this past September - took Springbok, Gemsbok, Blue wildebeest, Kudu, Eland, Impala, jackal, and baboon - planning to return in 2026 with my wife and kids and do some fishing as well and then do my first Cape buffalo hunt in 2027. Reading everyone else’s plans, I’m thinking I need to get more ambitious!

After such a great hunting experience in Namibia, its hard to go back to only hunting whitetail every fall as well as elk, moose, and mule deer every few years when you get drawn here in Alberta.
Can I come as your buffalo backup gun? lol

I came home from Africa just at the start of deer season here in S.C., and had a really hard time getting excited about whitetail after hunting overseas.

This is the exact reason I have never gone to Argentina on a high volume dove shoot. I dearly love dove hunting with a bunch of great guys. Going and shooting until you can’t shoot anymore would take a lot of the enjoyment out of my local hunts . I would still enjoy the fellowship with the guys and gals but the hunting would definitely be anticlimactic.

Your response @SCHUNTER73, was how I felt. Good to be spending time with hunting buds, past that I wasn't so excited sitting in a tree stand for rifle or muzzleloader season.

2025, I'll be back on hog patrol. Only did a couple runs this year and the farmers told me the groundhogs took over. One bean field had to be replanted. The predators will be well fed.

Tibet in July for Yeti, Oregon and Washington state in August for Sasquatch, if I have any energy remaining, September in the New Jersey pine barrens for the Jersey Devil.
You really need to get down to Australia and hunt drop bears! Bloody dangerous them drop bears. But will look great in your trophy room next to Yeti and big foot!

2024 was an incredible year for me. Due to multiple trips rolling over from other years and then still having the ones I had already booked for 2024, it was very busy and also ended up being very successful.

I still have a couple booked for early 2025 (Javelina/predator and then a black bear). But when those are done I will plan on taking a breather and enjoy/pay for the taxidermy as it rolls in. Then just hunt local for the rest of the year. But, I'm sure something will tempt me and I will be off on another adventure before too long.

Non trophy non exportable in NG4 I believe. I bought it in the local SCI auction. The hunt is with GameTrackers Africa. I plan to post a report when I return
Are you a citizen of Botswana? All non citizens are allowed to export the trophy. NG4 has been issued with export quota for 2025 .

I didn’t know Botswana offered non-trophy elephant hunts? Is it a true non-trophy non-exportable bull or still an exportable bull in an area that doesn’t produce large ivory?
They don’t - we are trying to get that changed.

I'm taking a group to Namibia in May and then nothing on the calendar as far as international. I just returned from Spain (report to come) and didn't get a Ronda ibex so plans in the works for October.

My hunt for Buffalo and plains game in Zimbabwe, in Sengwa 2025 was cancelled due to the severe drought. I booked something completely different as as substitute, barren land caribou in Northern Manitoba at the beginning of September. Wanted to do that for years. Should also have bonus opportunities of ptarmigan shooting and fishing for grayling and lake trout on the fly.
Other than that, our usual local waterfowl, elk, bear, perhaps moose, upland birds over pointing dogs, whitetail, ( pronghorn or mule deer depending on drawing a tag) and some nuisance beaver and coyote control shooting. Should be another good year.

I am not. My assumption is that the outfitter has decided to allocate some of their quota for the pursuit of non trophy bulls for their own reasons.

May - South Africa
July - Namibia
In August, on chamois in my beautiful country Slovenia.
In the winter time, it is possible to go moose hunting in Latvia - still under discussion!!!
All the time in between, of course, hunting roe deer

February for roe deer in the Pyrenees in France
September, hopefully ptarmigan some remote place in the mountains
End of year , hopefully booked an affordable non trophy, but exportable elephant hunting somewhere, advice greatly appreciated

I see you boys have full schedule for next year. Many of you multiple safaris in next year, or other international hunts!

I have to ask question: how do you manage available spare time to get two times or more to Africa in a year!?

My work schedule which is hard to predict is biggest limiting factor!

As for my plans, buffalo done this year and removed from bucket list.
So if my fluid work schedule permits, maybe non export, non trophy, own use or tuskless elephant. Thats my rough plan!

Retirement is the short answer. That work thing sure does eat up a lot of time.

I get 27 paid days off per year. But don't have to take them in calender week blocks.
I frequently take a 6 or 7 day trip using only 2 or 3 vacation days and Friday through Monday as my unpaid days off.
That's my plan going to Romania in May.
I usually get several normal hunting trips in per year this way and still have days left to cash out at the end of the year.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
