Success this evening. Shot at 5 PM on the dot. He came out at 4:55 and was cruising with a purpose, had to literally yell at him so he would stop. Not the biggest, but he’ll do for now .

Despite bucks on trail cams, I got skunked at deer camp, but finding a shed antler and my cigars were my consolation prizes. It was super cold and the wind kept changing directions.

Trying to find/see deer is tough in this country.

Nope. Kentucky has always been fairly strict about Whitetail. That doesn’t mean that people don’t do it, but the wardens aren’t typically lenient if they find out.

Poaching used to be a huge problem (hunting them was banned back in the day), but now numbers are up. However, farming areas are high pressure, so they often go nocturnal about 2 days into season.
