Why Buy A Blaser K95?

If anyone has or sees a Blaser S2 barrel set for sale, I’m in the market. I have searched a bunch of places with no luck. Thanks

The barrel sets are hard to find. I just bought an S2 and reached out to other sales ads to see if they would separate any of their multiple sets. So far, the answer has been no. I've checked with Mad Dog and other sources and so far, nothing. You might consider buying a full gun and selling what you don't need. It's not a cheap game for sure. Same applies to Krieghoff double rifles.

I have also tried to get folks selling with multiple barrels to separate, but none are willing. A gunsmith in Utah makes barrels for the model 95 etc., but he has never made the S2 set. Although he is considering it. He’s not excited in putting out the cash to buy a complete S2 as a pattern.

Not sure I'd be all that excited to be the first one with an aftermarket S2 barrel set. Especially considering the potential cost of such an item and what value it would hold in the future. Not to mention safety and regulation of loads.

If I couldn't find a Blaser S2 in the cartridge I wanted and was hell bent on a double rifle, I'd opt for a Krieghoff Big Five and save myself the headache.

I own a new action, butt stock, and forend. I’m into this now.

A little Blaser K95 update - Since I had a spare Zeiss HT scope and Blaser mount I bought myself a Blaser K95 Luxus (red deer/roe deer engraving), grade 6 walnut, super finish and ebony tip. Chambered in 308Win, yes I can here the shouting "Rimmed", however it is a brand new ordered rifle and the orderer cannot take ownership for personal health reasons. Just too pretty to pass, now waiting for paperwork. Will post photo when collected but the excitement is real.

I don't own one yet but I want one. Thought I found a deal last week (black edition w/fancy wood, 5k including saddle mount and hard case) but it already sold.

You can get the barrel you want (rimmed) easy enough.

My first K95 barrel was also 308 and octagon. It was just a good deal and nothing wrong with that! Photos of yours?

8x57irs Octagon Fluted with Sights and Zeiss editipn Octagpn Scope
7x57R with Zeiss 2.5-10x50 il Reticle 4
Both 24inchers.

Prices are USD...

A new K95 with standard 24" barrel with sights goes for ~ $6.5K.

Your 8x57IRS barrel looks to be fluted, not octagonal. New price for fluted or octagonal is ~ $4K.

Two Blaser QD/Zeiss rail scope mounts are $550 each new.

I'm not sure on the scopes because there aren't enough details and the picture isn't much help. I will admit that rail mounted scopes is a big plus for me, but most Americans prefer non-rail mounted. For this reason you could take a hit on the scopes and Blaser QD/Zeiss mounts. Depends on the buyer.

How much? Depends. How much was it used? Are there dings, dents or scratches? Does it come with a case or any other accessories? How quickly do you want to sell it? Are you going through an auction house or doing a private sale?

The market in GER is much different than the market in the US. I would expect much more interest where you are located or at least in the EU. Most hunters (outside of AH membership) aren't even aware of Blaser as a brand, let alone the single shot K95 model. Again I wanted to mention the rail mounted scopes being very common in Europe, but not so much in the US. Lastly is ammo for these calibers. In Europe these are pretty common, but in the US I'd have to reload (or pay for custom ammo) to use premium bullets.

If I were looking at it (in the US) with mild use and a few ding and dents, I'd offer $7-7.5K but be willing to go up to $8K if the rifles and scopes were in really good condition. The Negrini travel case would be nice, but not a deal breaker.

It's a wonderful package that you have there, and I wish you didn't have these unexpected house issues to deal with. I wish you the best of luck with the sale.

Really depends on the buyer, I looked at two secondhand K95 Luxus however bought new as it was actually only $500 more and I received better wood, forend and finish.
I would think you would be better off selling the optics and octagonal barrel separately to get a decent price.

The 8x57irs is a custom Job from a very well know german Gunsmith Ralph Paschen.
Octagon with flutes and sights. Very well done.
8k would be okay for me.

Sold to BeeMaa ;)

I’ve always been somewhat intrigued by the looks of the Blaser K95, but until I got to handle one at SCI this year, I didn’t know how much I’d like them. Turns out I REALLY like them. And now I find myself talking myself into one. Not sure what caliber I’d start off with, but I’m thinking about a light caliber such as 7x57 or something similar, then adding a 9.3x74r in the future. For those of you who own one, what is your opinion?
Very well made, super accurate, excellent trigger, excellent.safety features and lastly it is German.......
