There is a Picatinny rail for the R8 and you can mount an RMR on it.Resurrecting this thread. Does anyone use an RMR on a Blaser R8? Just wondering if there's a mount available.
Yes. I saw those. Was hoping there's a qd style one piece mount that would be very compact. Looks like Trijicon makes one called the RM60. But, they're $250.00. But then again, nothing is cheap in R8 land. There is a Picatinny rail for the R8 and you can mount an RMR on it.

I've been looking at the Aimpoint H1 Blaser combo. Looks really nice. They are $1215 USD on Amazon. How do you like yours?Henneberger makes a QD one piece thats like a thin flat plate the optic screws right on, no extra pieces.
I have a Aimpoint H1 on their Blaser mount ; but they make them for all sorts of compact brand red dot optic.
Theres LOTS of European companies making Blaser mounts; MAK, Innogun,Gun Star just to name a few.
Titanium Gunworks in Germany is a dealer who really knows Blaser and can deal with specific Henneberger mounts for just about any brand optic. I think links here are a no no? But google will get you there.

Been on several of my Blaser barrels as its my rainy day/dark woods optic for deer season.
Its flawless. I find myself just using it instead of a conventional scope more and more.
I also have other Aimpoint products and really like all of them. Have a compC3 and a short tube 9000 on my slug gun for deer (I live in a state where my county is slug only; but most counties allow rifle, so I switch back and forth depending where I am.)
And the battery thing is true. I put my slug gun away one season around T-Giving. I didnt use it the following season, then I pulled it out to check zero, 20 months later. Left the scope on all that time at like a power 4/ middle setting, no problem.
You didnt ask me, but thats similar to one of my Aimpoint h1 mounts that uses one set of barrel detents. I also have the the other that uses both detents. What do you think of this setup?
I just wonder would the single mount hold up on a 458WM?You didnt ask me, but thats similar to one of my Aimpoint h1 mounts that uses one set of barrel detents. I also have the the other that uses both detents.
I found no issue with the single at all, and still have the double for future use at some point, never switched it over and will most likely buy another Aimpoint.
Here is the H1 on a Blaser with the single point contact with a 270win brass for scale. This has been in the field a bunch, I’m not always easy on equipment and has held up fine, no shift after initial zero. (thats an R93, I never made the jump to R8, optic mounts are all the same)

I only have custom rail made by JJ for my RMR and now SRO. Having shot my SRO for first time this week I like it better than my RMR…for me easier target acquisition and extremely little difference in profile. I also much prefer the 1 MOA versus my RMR 3.25 MOAThe reason I ask about the mounting arrangement is, the little piccatinny mounts that come on the Trijicon sites seem very fragile. The mounting screw on the H2 sight that I sold was very miniscule. I want something robust enough to take the recoil, but will stay tight without having to use thread locker. I want it to be quick release, so I can swap back and forth between it and a scope. Seems like all of the mounts for the RMR style sights are made for piccatinny rails on AR15 style rifles, and seem pretty flimsy.
I’ve shot that on a 375HH barrel and even sighted it in as a backup for a trip on a 300WBY; my wood stock gun is pretty light, quite a bit then any R8 configuration. I didnt have any issues, still havent.I just wonder would the single mount hold up on a 458WM?
I went ahead and ordered the RMR with the Trijicon RM60 mount. I'll try it and see if it holds up. If not, hopefully I can find a mount for it that has two attachments.I’ve shot that on a 375HH barrel and even sighted it in as a backup for a trip on a 300WBY; my wood stock gun is pretty light, quite a bit then any R8 configuration. But, that became the topic of discussion around, and after some time 2 pt full mounts showed up. Then with the popularity of the R8, more aftermarket companies started in on mounts. I jumped in on a group introductory deal and ended up with a 2 pt I never switched to.
Right now? I’d buy a 2 point. It’s probably more robust over all in case of getting banged around a bit on in the field,on and off a trucks gun rack, and recoil.
I’d pair it with the sub $500 RMR and the mount is $400; and you’re less than the Aimpoint combo. No it’s not cheap, nothing Blaser ever has been. I can say I get sale emails from Aimpoint and you can beat that $1200 Amazon standard price direct from Aimpoint.
I bet you can have an RMR base fitted to a quick detach Blaser scope base. Personally I would rather have the H1, it is a sealed unit. Rain and heavy dust will not allow you to see the dot on the screen of an RMR (any reflex).I went ahead and ordered the RMR with the Trijicon RM60 mount. I'll try it and see if it holds up. I must have been very lucky as I can't recall it raining on any African hunt I have been on.... Personally I would rather have the H1, it is a sealed unit. Rain and heavy dust will not allow you to see the dot on the screen of an RMR (any reflex).
