When in South Africa get by Boplaas cellars in Calitzdorp, they make a couple good ones. This is a Bourbon barrel aged one I brought back to the States. There other is matured in brandy casks I believe. Only so much space in my luggage...

Also Bains Cape Mountain Whisky out of South Africa is pretty good too.

When in Rome.. .
RSA has a lot of good stuff. Besides the whisky mentioned there's a lot of brandy, gin, wit blitz (white lightning-unaged brandy), and of course wines. Let's just say my luggage sloshed a bit coming back.

Yeah that's fair enough, I don't think peat is something you acquire a taste for either seems to be either you like it or hate it.

For what it's worth my favorite islay whisky is ardbeg 10 probably the most approachable of them too.
REALLY wish that was true..my two sons hated my peaty stuff but got stuck INTO my other singles like pigs and strawberries. Over time, they are now STUCK on my Lagavulins too!!!
We like a wide range of single malts and appreciate them on every hunt we do.
Going on short biltong hunt from 23rd September and the single malts are already packed( with the cigars, of course)..

These are a couple of my favourite singles. Cut my teeth on Glenfiddich 12 year but now that I am older so is my whisky. The Aberlour is a new found go to for a relaxing dram around the campfire.

That's Canadian Rye Whiskey! I wouldn't even put it in the same cabinet as my Scotch.

While it is a Canadian, it has no rye. Personally I see nothing wrong with either on occasion if it's made well.

If it's not made from rye then what is it made from?

From what I got from a couple sites it's mostly corn. So corn and barley since you need the malted barley to break down the corn starches as I recall. Reviews show some folks like it and some don't.

Well being a Canadian that makes it worse. Canadian whiskey is made from rye. Now somebody is trying to pass soured corn off as Canadian. What an insult.

Actually Canadian whiskey is just a whiskey made in Canada. Usually they are blends with corn typically being the predominant grain and the amount of rye can vary if it has it at all. So, JP Wiser didn't lie at all. From how adamantly negative you are concerning this I'm pretty certain none of this will sway your opinion. Just like I'm not a fan of Islay Scotch for it's often overbearing peat IMO. To each their own.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
