Congratulations, two cross-bolts, beautiful rifle, great scope choice!

Beautiful rifle. Merry Christmas. Just shoot it as it is. Don’t worry about scratches. Or do buy the Bell&Carlson synthetic stock for magnum (not long) action . Those have straighter comb if you’re gonna run a scope as mentioned. Either stock i would glass bed the action and you might be surprised how accurate these things are.

Whats the opinion on the Kevlar stocked 550?? I know where there is one in 458 Lott (UK Side (sorry @krish )).

To be honest I have not shot any CZ 550 458 LOTT either wood or Kevlar. My wby's are synthetic stocks. One in 340, and the other in 338/378. I like them. They seem to be heavier
not shallow. CZ kevlar stocks are hollow.
CZ or as a matter of fact after market stocks need some kind of filling to make it feel solid. Just my opinion.
Krish.
(PS) no more guns for me.
Need to save for hunting.

I used to have the 458 Lott. In the Kevlar stock i found it nice to shoot and accurate. It felt like other B&C stocked rifles. Plasticky but not hollow actually as i think they are foam filled. Like all cz magnums i thought it would have benefited from shortening the barrel. But sold it to a guy who used to have one shortened and loved it and was going to do it to this one. Overall a good setup either way, IMO.

I have taken CZ 550 Kevlar stock but pad. They are not foam filled.

Ok. I don’t have it or any of the other b&c stocks anymore so can’t check.

I'm torn. For those of you who know me know I'm old school. I can see the practical side of a synthetic stock (my 7x64 and my 223 are synth). But when it comes to the bigger calibres I just feel it's slightly wrong. But I do like the look of those stocks on the CZs.

B&C make good stocks and if CZ used them should be rather good.

@norfolk shooter - I'm old school too, but to me it also means that function is placed in front of form. Meaning that it has to function well first and looks come after. Of course you can have both, especially seeing as Rigby once used CZ actions for their London Best rifles.

My tastes fell more to the bottom end of that scale with my CZ. The B&C looked every bit the part after a proper bedding job from AHR.

I recently posted photos of a couple custom M70's which received "oohs and awes" over the wood.

Here are a couple photos of another of my custom guns. This is a 6.5-284 built by Steve Huff of Accuracy X on their proprietary action. Short story, Steve recommended a Stocky's stock with aluminum bedding block for functionality and accuracy. He was correct.

PS: Even though the color looks to be a different color, that is from the lighting. This is the same stock.

I have to admit I kinda like them kevlar stocks. The one I have found is in 458 lott. I can load that thing from mild to wild

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
