How about these violent video games that children can play. If they’re going to take weapons away why not start with these violent video games I think that’s where these kids are learning to kill from these games. Instead they take away something that we’ve all grown up with and become a custom to ,Elmer Fudd shotgun. Total bullshit.

This is an attention ploy, just like this story that I'm about to tell a story. They know that with people constantly thinking about gun violence, news articles would bring a metric ass-ton of free publicity for their reboot. Remember, there's barely ever such a thing as bad publicity.

So in the show Family Guy, they killed off one of the main characters, Brian Griffin, in order to shock and gain attention. After the episode aired, you had an outpouring of folks who mourned the son of a bitch (pun 100% intended), with a single petition garnering over 120k signatures. So a few weeks later, he was bought back to life through a time machine in an episode so hooray right? WRONG

The episode in which they screwed the pooch (Again, pun 100% intended) was aired on November 24th, 2013. The episode where he was retroactively saved from his death aired on December 15th, 3 weeks after he got the Old Yeller treatment. Now one thing you should know is that TV syndicated cartoons take a very long time to make and are massive collaborations between several people. A cursory Google search reveals that one episode of Family Guy takes 10 months to make, meaning that through some basic mental calculations, you realize that both his death and resurrection were likely planned in tandem. The moral of this story is that companies know damned well what they're doing. It's not some grand political conspiracy, it's merely a ploy for attention and should not be treated as anything else but.

This wasn't some move by some commie, vegan, liberals to take a stand against the NRA and thinking about it as such is EXACTLY what HBO wants.

also @larry4831 there have been several massive studies done that as long as ESRB ratings are not ignored, video games don't turn kids violent and are not to blame for any forms of violence (except if your kid is a sore loser). I've interacted with many a teeny babby who was also a Fortnite fan and I'd say that they were no more violent or crazy than I was when I was their age (tho them constantly talking about shit like Fortnite does make me feel like an old geezer.) 2 wrongs don't make a right. This ain't math where 2 negatives make a positive.

@tigris115 I absolutely agree with you.... But that's the sad point of it all! They aren't taking away Elmer's gun because they think it's the right thing to do. They are appeasing the masses and getting free publicity. BUT it's at OUR expense! We as firearms owners bare the brunt of it.

With my experience in children's media, it just seems to me that some things are becoming more normalized, kinda like mixed-race couples. From what I know, the only thing keeping gays from appearing too much on channels like Disney, CN, and Nickelodeon is that they still wanna have their shows being broadcasted all over the world, even in territories like the Middle East, China, and Russia.

As for the pedo problem, yea that's a big issue. Sadly, a group of people that call themselves M.A.P. (Minor Attracted People's) as a means to disguise themselves have tried to infiltrate the community in an attempt for acceptance. Most of the time they're given the boot but if I can be honest, I think that these communities aren't self-policed enough. Especially with young children that are put in drag shows or goaded into transitioning by parents trying to be """"""""woke"""""""" for attention. People single out things like Toddlers and Tiaras and Honey Boo Boo and yea, those shows are a middle finger to all that is good in this world but I'd argue that child drag shows and making children transition when they clearly aren't interested is worse as well. In fact, I'd say that being so eager for your children is just another way of blatantly enforcing gender norms and pigeonholing them. Like just because a girl likes playing ball instead of with toy horses does NOT mean she has gender dysphoria. That's why the term "tomboy" exists. And vice versa for young boys. Let children explore the world around them and manifest themselves. I take this issue very seriously because I have had a very close trans friend in college, at least within "best friend" territory to the point where he got invited to birthday lunches. I say this because it emphasizes why I take these issues so seriously.

You may or may not be aware that HBO Max has relaunched Warner Brothers classic Looney Tunes Cartoons. But in the name of "political correctness" our beloved Elmer Fudd has been stripped of his firearm. Political correctness my ass!
If they truly wanted to be politically correct what they could do is introduce a new character who is a vegan. The two of them would have calm and rational discussions about their opinions on hunting and/or consuming animals. Elmer Fudd could explain all the benefits hunting has for conservation and proper wildlife Management, and how he appreciates organic meat free of artificial hormones, antibiotics, etc. The viewer could actually be educated on several facts regarding the benefits of hunting that many people are unaware of. The vegan could say how emotionally, he cannot accept the idea of an animal being killed for consumption or human gain/profit. They could both share their sides and their opinions without being angry or hostile to each other and could just agree to disagree. The two of them could be amazing friends who both love, enjoy, and appreciate nature, but have a difference of opinion where hunting and animal consumption are concerned. To me, that's far more politically correct as it shows both sides and also a peaceful resolution......... People don't have to agree with each other in order to get along. Just respect each other's thoughts and feelings, and coexist. The idea that Elmer no longer has a firearm, but is using a scythe to try to "hunt" Bugs Bunny I feel depicts hunters as primitive and barbaric with a lust for murder and mayhem! Surely a scythe would not dispatch game in a quick and humane manner compared to the shotgun he was using. This just depicts hunters in a vile and barbaric image. I don't think that is politically correct at all!
Apparently this decision was made due to the mass shootings that have taken place in the US. Yet explosive devices are depicted every bit as much, if not more, than in the original cartoon.
Apparently nearly 40,000 bombings in the United States in a 20 year period doesn't mean much. Forget about the Unabomber, the Time Square Bombing, the Boston Marathon Bombings, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the World Trade Center Bombing, the Underwear Bomber, Centennial Olympic Park, the list goes on. But who cares about explosives? As long as Elmer Fudd is disarmed our children are safe to now watch these cartoons, right?
What about vehicular manslaughter? Next will we have to take the CARs out of CARtoons?
Enough is enough. And enough was A LOOOOOONNNNNNGGG time ago!!
