Steve Rinella/ Meat Eater podcast is in Tanzania
Agreed,That last video you posted I watched this morning and it is very awesome.
I’m glad Steve Rinella finally made the trip. I not a huge huge fan and he has made negative comments on hunting Africa before. He admitted his negative comments and ate his words and now shot a buffalo. Good for him and good for Africa I think.
A lot can be said for His PH who made him come see what Africa is all about and book the trip. They met in the US prior.
True,Agreed,
LOTS of the anti Africa hunting crowd and even the general anti hunting crowd watch his show and hopefully it will trickle down to some people being enlightened to the fact that photo safaris are not the savior of African game.
We'll see if it has any affect on hunts, as I think it will be good for outfitters but when he started show casing public land access and tag prices for Oklahoma the public areas started to become infested with out of state hunters.
Yea good and bad ha. Of course good overall. Not a fan of his but I’m glad he changed his mind and wentAgreed,

Has anyone seen him actually hunting in Africa. Or is it all talking about hunting. Every episode I’ve seen is him and his PH talking. Zero hunting.

I actually like the meat eater showsI would suspect they'd save the hunting footage for one of the Meateater TV episodes of its own. The interview video format I believe is from the meateater podcast.
Glad he finally went and glad he's eating his words, he was giving safari hunters a black eye for quite a while.
That’s why I’m not excited about this. I don’t want the price of hunts going up.Agreed,

And have meet him. Years ago at a out door show in Al.
But how do you know he has changed his mind? He runs a entertainment company.
Enough money may have changed hands to change his words.
Or the words might have been just to draw money.
Idk
People that did not like him because he didn’t appreciate African hunting.I judge him to be a competent hunter that loves the outdoors. I judged him accurately that he was a nitwit about safari hunting for years and heard a few of his podcasts where he brought on "experts" that were absolutely nuts and incorrect about African hunting that further galvanized his low opinion. Since he went to Tanzania for a fair chase hunt of course his eyes are going to be opened.
Rinella going to Africa isn't really going to change his financial outlook so I don't think that he did it to be "good for business", rather I think enough friends of his schooled him and got him to shut up about his incorrect ideas and go see for himself. I'm glad he did.
podcast VS tv show. These are the videos of the podcast. As already noted, The actual hunting will likely show up on the TV Show.Has anyone seen him actually hunting in Africa. Or is it all talking about hunting. Every episode I’ve seen is him and his PH talking. Zero hunting.
I’m somewhat indifferent to him but other than not really understanding safari hunting, why don’t some people like him?
I know he has given away rifles for cause’s o had one he gave away to rase money for a sick kid. A local shooting club gave it to the winner of a shooting comp all the entrees fee went to her familyHe’s a quirky guy. I think I’d like him as an acquaintance but would not like him as a friend for a few quirky reasons. He told a story of an old man that gave him a VERY valuable Winchester lever gun. The same elderly man offered to give him an amazing piece of land in MI provided he live there and never sell it. Rinella refused the land deal and sold the lever gun for a pittance to buy some POS bolt gun.
That story alone made me dislike Rinella on a personal level.
